I never saw "Nobody's perfect", "who's laughing now" and "it's my party" in another contest Or maybe you should just use something which is currently very-much liked. Maybe, but I like to send my favorite songs. It's now my fault, that they are mostly from popular artists, but I just send songs that I like. And If I would send Rita Ora, or a new single form Ellie Goulding, most people would say "OMG, (s)he is soooooooooooo overused"... I had the same thing in IMF #11 where "Blink" entered for Germany. It was very overused, but florian says, that it wasn't when he send it. And this happens with the most popular songs. I don't want to send overused songs, so I take big artists with a few unknown songs (did you ever seen "Who's laughing now" from Jessie J in an internet contest yet?)

I haven't seen Jessie J anywhere so far. You send only your favorite songs. When I joined the first contest I thought about that too but I think it's a bad idea. Because if your music taste is much different from others you won't do well.

People do have their effort to use their time browsing artists/songs that can make out a great deal for getting good results because of how good the songs are for you and/or your surroundings. Usually Last.fm finds good artists that are musically related to the one act you are searching for yourself. For that instance, United Kingdom is an easy country to be following because of its big music industry. You just have to take your time. It doesn't have to be much with exactly UK! Think about people who are struggling to find theirs because of a rarer country unlike yours!

I don't want to send songs I don't like, just for getting many points, that makes no fun in my opinion I want to win with my music taste (and Jessie J isn't very different to others) and not with songs I hate :/
