For LYSC 15,
we want to re-examine the field of the contest,
in size, impact, originality and more,
to fit the contest to what's in the best interest for all current and new participants.
So hereby I invite you with the opportunity for the upcoming 4 days to think about the following:
A: Whether your country confirms or withdraws for edition 15. [If new, whether you want to debut, or whether you make a new country.]
B: Whether the country you've invented still is what you like, or want to have something new.
C: What made you join this contest and what makes you stay is a stable key factor in this contest.
Now, let's also be creative for a minute!
#Step 1: The LYSC Wiki
I've noticed that the Wiki is really underutilized, and only being used sporadically, or by a determined handful.
I've edited in the results of over 20 countries today for all editions;
easily to do yourself within 5 minutes now.
I've posted artists and songs today for my country.
[Praise to Jani, he's made great pages for 's artists, songs and even voting sheets, who can serve as example.]
You can make pages of yourself to keep score, the country pages can be updated with all info's, graphs and more.
All that you post in the Country Updates thread, can also be easily copy-pasted into the wiki.
There's so much more we can do there, and we're on our way to do so, keep it up!
#Step 2: Designs!
You've noticed the introduction of the results scoreboard for the LYSC 13 Grand Final results.
I'm making it look better as we continue, just by learning how to use everything.
During editions things will look more professional, which is the aim.
We want to be on YouTube, the forums, and random places on the internet, where people say:
"I like music, I like contests, and I like creative and good designs."
It is an essential step to make this contest more fun, realistic, and standing out.
#Step 3: Schedules
Many of you have told us that the pace of the contest is very fast.
You shouldn't be and feel pressured to vote.
We saw during the Grand Final of LYSC 13 that everybody voted pretty quickly.
How good schedules are, is also how bad they are.
We'll try to find a middle, where everyone has the relaxed time to vote, but the contest also isn't slumping.
#Step 4: Additional Materials
During the last weeks, I've been working on several things.
The main ones are the:
* The LYSC Wiki *
* The LYSC Entry Database *
[You can find all past countries, songs and scores here]
* Lyrical Song Contest downloadable playlists for LYSC 9 to 12 * [Coming Soon!]
We now envision you all, current and new participants, with the chance to change things in Lyrical Song Contest.
Anything that you wish to see, changed, removed, edited, let us know and we will discuss it.
