Good evening all!
The thread has finally come! We've made it through 16 editions, and currently on our 17th. 16 amazing winners, and many great songs in between.
It's almost near the end of this decade, before we start the #20's!
However, in advance I'll tell you (you know it already, anyway) that Worldvision Song Contest #20 will be a special edition. We already had our 1st special edition in #10, which was pretty interesting and successful enough. The idea back then was "native languages" where each country had to submit a song in their own language, and there was barely no English (except for a few countries).
But now it's up to you! You can have your say and tell us what ideas you want for the 20th edition. Around the 19th edition, we'll be having a poll (on the forum - or somewhere else) in which we'll pick the best idea to use.
So go ahead and start telling us your ideas, don't be shy!

To be honest the most logical one'd be now "No English and no official languages of your country". However I definitely won't support it by myself if that becomes a possible one.

I wouldn't mind this theme, because I'd be able to use song in russian, which I want to use for some time Because that restriction would mean I can't send 5 languages to the contest. And honestly I don't think that there's anything not in these languages.

I really like fabbi's idea! No English and no native sounds great Here are my ideas: • "Biggest Hits!" Send the biggest hit your country has ever produced (song must be at least 2 years old) • "90's edition!" Only songs from the 90's are allowed (but tbh, it could get difficult for some countries, as they might have not existed yet..) • "International collaboration!" Send a song that also features one or more artists from another country

There are 2 options for your case: 1) We could allow you to send a song in French or Romansh (btw: is there a flag for this one? ), as those are not your native ones. 2) You could send an instrumental song (trololo)

Well, the 90's idea is a great one! I don't think it would be a huge problem for some though. Yes, some countries may have not existed yet, but they could find a way around it - for example; Montenegro existed as andmontenegro Serbia & Montenegro until 2006, they could send Montenegrin singers who were from Serbia & Montenegro (the Montenegrin part, of course). For Soviet countries for example, if I'm right it wasn't too late in the 90's that they gained independence.

And your two suggested opinions sound okay. I've also thought about instrumentals.

I'll send my winners or so again trololol That doesn't mean I don't want any of these topics.

As I told you before I think, I'm still up for the Pictures theme (everyone getting a picture and sending a song that fits to it) It was fun and interesting to host such an edition, and I wouldn't mind at all doing it again as normal player this time The 90s theme sounds good too, it's a bit more specific, so that's nice
