About the update of the rules: Laurinda what was the decision on the editions #104 and #108 to be the pre-2000s editions? Also may I suggest the "final" date for songs to be eligible to be 31. December 2010 instead. It's probably easier to have the final date of eligible "between" 2 decades if you know what I mean. Yes, they will be pre-2000 editions. The decision behind it being 2011 is for a reason, though idk if the meaningful factor should play as a big role here as I made it. WWW Song Contest was founded in August 2011. My initial idea was to stop there, but it would cause confusion, so I moved it to the end of the year, instead of backwards. For the most part songs from then on already had a chance to be sent in the main contest. It makes sense to me, though I see where you're coming from.

Remember #50? It's one of the last songs I'd ever expect hearing ever again (especially sang by someone else). But guess what? (screaming) And she's killing it.

Her voice in general is not bad, but she's not up to par with this song (I'm talking specifically about the part from 1:28+)... not everyone can sing it well... she still needs some training... it's good to see people trying, but as I said - you need to be ready for this song, because it doesn't forgive mistakes... I'm not pretending to be some vocal coach, but even I understand that her "scream" is not long enough and she's out of breath by the end of it... As for the song itself - english just doesn't give the same vibes to it... russian is a lot more emotional and fitting language for this song

And what? I didn't even realize it was English. I mean ofc it sounded different, but I was only watching out for the high notes.

2 weeks ago Retro celebrated its 7th birthday! I keep forgetting so better late than never.
It's been a very long time, and I'd have never imagined it would be going for so many years after it was founded.
Currently, this contest averages 18,6 editions per year or 20,6 including all the awards.
The contest has had 68 different countries participating throughout the years.
Even after all this time, this contest still has from around 25 up to a max of 31 players in each edition. This is a very mind-blowing piece of information to me. Without the players, the contest is nothing, so thank you very much for that.
I pride myself on a very neatly organized and updated wiki page. It's a great source of information and it takes no time to look anything up. I would like to thank everyone who is updating the country pages, it is in the end a lot of work.
Lastly, I'd like to thank everyone for having patience with me. Even if I do get some help here and there, I'm still the only host of this contest and I make many (unnecessary) mistakes. I try my best to fix them, but I don't always have time (and patience). I hope you don't feel like you're being treated differently, that has never been my intention.
Thanks again, and happy birthday to Retro
