This was growing on me but the revamp is worse than the original, the instrumental sounds washed-up now and lost most of its "oompf"

A bit more "cold" than the original version, but I'm so sure that he will bring IT! to the stage! Still my number 1 since he won

This song is fast-paced, upbeat, and so critically Spanish that it probably bleeds red and gold! Possibly the best part about this song is that despite being in Spanish it is exceedingly catchy and fun to sing for me. It has a great opening chorus line: “La venda ya cayo” - you damn well bet I will remember this line for years to come. There’s also a part of the video where a guy in a hoodie looks at a poster that says “La venda ya cayo” and he smiles and starts running away and now it makes me laugh because who in the hell sees a poster that says “the blindfold is off” written on it and then is like “Oh YEAH that’s my jam” then runs away to join a random dance crew downtown? My biggest gripe - and I’m reaching a bit here - is the fake-as-hell synthesized brass section, and (maybe to a lesser extent?) Miki’s rather platonic vocal range. What he lacks in ups and downs he makes up for with the fast-paced lyrical flow. It’s a very rhythmic flow, which some may find distracting, but I’m mostly concerned about its perceived quality. The bridge is a bit weak too; it resorts to just repeating the same line over and over till the final chorus. I think this song can get Spain out of 20th or lower place. But they need to go all out on the stage; I’m not talking about insane pyrotechnics or memerific moments or strange fashions. No, just turn the stage into a party! Make it look like Miki’s having the most fun of any contestant on stage. That can be hard to do with a limit of six performers (Barei got swallowed up by the stage) but I have faith. Miki’s got the stage presence and confidence to elevate this. Have you seen that London Eurovision Party performance? He looks cool, he gets the audience involved, and half of them probably don’t know the words. All good things! This isn’t maybe as mainstream as “Say Yay” or as powerful as “Amanacer,” but Spain aren’t looking to repeat what they’ve done in the past. In a contest where everyone sends songs that translate well musically, Spain takes a hard left and goes for authenticity. And I can really admire that. It’s not my personal favorite, but I will look forward to his performance on Saturday.
