"La venda" is a pretty good example of what we Catalan teenagers and young adults listen and dance to in parties and concerts (dunno if it's the same in the rest of the country) I feel proud of our entry. Best of luck in May, Miki

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼ 12 // Amazing----------------------------------------------------------------------what the absolute f u c k, spain
I was on the absolute verge of thinking María was gonna win that top 2, as 12% between 1st and 2nd just seemed way too big for the hype it got, but oh my GOD I'M SO GLAD I'M WRONG. I L O V E T H I S
I've seen so many comments mentioning how this is super Catalan, and that's probably where I'll start giving it credit. It already has a massive Spanish (well, Catalan, to be more specific) sound to it, and it's easily connectable with the country, and that's already a good start, as I adore what I am hearing. The verses of this song can be debatable, I can say that, but as fast as that hook comes in before the chorus, that's where you start wanting to dance like our kazakh Borat. Easily a great party starter, as shown during the live performances as well. Everyone in the arena getting instantly hooked onto the song and joining in to the chaos. Miki did of course struggle with the vocals at some occasions, most noticeable were the "cayoooo" parts in each of the choruses, but the sight of Miki actually enjoying himself on stage made the small mistakes not that big of a deal in the end.
I'm probably gonna regret giving this a so quickly, considering I've basically spam listened to this for the past few days lmfao but hey, things always starts restoring before the Eurovision weeks, so who knows how it will look, but for now, it's a jackpot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Will this do good in the final? Hmm... Definitely a mixed bag here, because it doesn't seem like a top 10er as of now, but at the same time, it definitely doesn't scream "this will do absolutely shit". I can definitely see this song turn the arena into a dance party on the other hand, and it would definitely bring attention, but for now, anything can happen for Spain. In the end, it all depends on how Miki can translate the song as a performance for the audience and viewers, and until then, we can only speculate.
Overall? Definitely a much better choice over Tu cancíon, and it's probably already on its way to make people jump in happiness and excitement at pre-parties, and concerts. With the right kit, Miki and RTVE can be really happy with their progress for Tel Aviv. May the very best of luck go towards Miki and Spain through their Eurovision 2019 journey!
