This is quite a clear 12, "Move" is a BANGER and in years like 2018/2019 it would've been the best winner possible.
But of course I have to talk about my big favourite, Dotter.
Being one of my all-time favourite Swedish artists, I was fully excited to see her participating in 2018 and I was ready for her to surprise and be a contender to do really well. As we all know, that didn't happen and the "dream" of seeing her perform in ESC kinda died after she declined any participation in the upcoming MFs.
HOWEVER, this year, to my surprise she was back. Initially, I had low expectations, but everything that followed after SF2 made me believe otherwise. I finally saw the Swedish public and the ESC fandom embracing her and it honestly felt SO GOOD, considering it was for an artist I've stanned since 2015. Everything looked like she was going for the victory but of course it didn't happen and I can't lie, it was quite devastating, especially because of that 1 fucking point. I wish I could think she's going to come back and win but I can't.
So to sum up:
- Do I like the winner? Absolutely
- Am I disappointing as fuck? Fuck yes
- Are we ever going to see Dotter in ESC? Probably not, I feel like the big chance happened to be this year and it was as close as it gets. Not gonna lie though, if you had told me in 2018 after she came 6th in the semi, that all of this would happen, I wouldn't believed you. Not in a million years.
And fuck the Austrian jury, they deserve no rights whatsoever.
