I thibk what they mean was it would tsint there contest last year.... Just remember most of the ppl who vote aint die hard fans lke us and re causal viewers so They wouldnt of known the songsthis year and still probably dont. Soit would have been new for them even if the songs are a year old and most of the songs would havr been new for is with the staging etc. Can you clarify that first part for me with perfect grammar and spelling please? I couldn't understand. It would have to be public knowledge that the songs came out in 2020, and by that point it would be inappropriate for a 2021 edition if the songs were designated to a year that has already went by. Additionally, a year is plenty of time for songs to creep into the public airwaves. Most of the songs would be played on the radio and steadily gain streams. They eventually lose their value and purpose as Eurovision entries. I think what they mean was it would taint there contest last year....

And finally, you don't have to watch next year's show if this year's circumstances is going to ruin the experience you are yet to have in the future. We all know I will watch it. Sorry, but that is a really stupid argument. I know that nobody is forcing me to watch anything. Yet I still have the right to be sad that the cancellation also heavily affects the Eurovision 2021 season and I won't be able to enjoy it like before.

I hope those thoughts go away when Eurovision is back on your screen next year.

Idk if that's still rthe right thread lol, but Germany opened submissions for next year's preselection earlier this week with Ben Dolic not having granted an automatic spot. I'm quite surprised by that btw.
