Lebanon: Entry Announcement Lebanese broadcaster LBCI is proud to announce the lebanese entry for OESC 53. About Postcards Postcards is a dream pop trio formed in 2012 in Beirut, Lebanon. Their music is defined by hushed vocals floating over expansive soundscapes that shift between harsh noise and dreamy atmospheres; a duality that embodies the promise and disillusion that runs through their country’s history. They have released 3 EPs and 1 album and has been regularly touring Europe, the UK and the Middle East since 2014. They’ve also opened for bands like Beirut (2014) and Angus and Julia Stone (2015). Their sophomore album The Good Soldier, produced by long-time collaborator Fadi Tabbal (Tunefork Studios), will be out on January 3rd 2020 via T3 records. The record further explores the wide range of their dream pop sound with songs veering between slow core, post punk, surf rock, and shoe gaze, while Sabra’s distinctive vocals lead the way. In this album, Postcards attempt to find themselves amidst the chaos, acknowledging the inevitability of disaster and hesitating between fighting or retreating to their inner world. Postcards are: Julia Sabra: Lead Vocals, Guitar, Bass Synth, Synth and Organ Pascal Semerdjian: Drums, Sampler, Bass Synth and Backing Vocals Marwan Tohme: Guitar, Bass and Backing Vocals.
Postcards have commented on being selected to represent Lebanon in Armenia: ‘’ We are honoured to represent our country in Armenia and we can hardly wait to put all our experience and knowledge into achieving a decent place for our country ‘’
We wish best of luck to Postcards and their journey to the Own Eurovision Song Contest in Armenia. I'd like to thank MG for helping me design this post
