"OVERTHINKING" by Adna AS2E02: Fantasia Fest
Timeslot: 3:13
For this week, I was assigned Demacia. Being one of the most successful countries, there were plenty of good and worthy entries to choose from (also many personal faves of mine). However, I decided to go with "Overthinking" by Adna which also happens to be my winner of the 8th edition. I chose this song because, in my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful songs the contest has ever seen with a very touching message and has undoubtedly left its own impact. | Lyrics
Many nights In my own head Wondering if it's been nearly as many In yours Every day Is the day after I'm screaming in silence Can't stand the anxiety running through my veins
Left alone with the words I never said Overthinking you Overthinking truth Overthinking, oh
Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home Need to find out where home is first
Stop pretending life doesn't terrify you I used to love the open sea Now it's pouring blood The heavens grieve
I'll pretend Having an empty chest Maybe, I save myself this way
And in dreams I'll beg you to recognize The will of Being by your side
Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home Need to find out where home is first
Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home Honey, I'm going home |

"Séduction" by Joanna Week 2: Fantasia Fest
3:06+
For the Fantasia Fest, I have the amazing country of Juliana, so to decide what to send of all this entries I decided to go for one of their best songs that also reprents in my opinion what is Juliana in Fantasia. That's why I decided to go for entry for #16 Edition Of Fantasia in . Séduction it's all what Juliana is about, Juliana's entries are normally sexy, sophisticated, dreamy and the french is a plus.
I think this entry deserve to Top 10, however remains one of their very best, I hope the judges get enchanted by this dreamy song and make agni proud | LYRICS
[Couplet 1]
Viens contre moi, viens
[Pont]

Fantasia Fest Frootania
Ghostly Kisses • "The City Holds My Heart"
Recap slot: 2:39+
This song is one of Frootania's best entries in my view. Frootania used to have pop songs every edition at the beginning of its FC journey but over time, the country turned more alternative and nowadays, "The City Holds My Heart" is the song that reminds me of Frootania's entries the most. It has a really relaxing, soothing sound, which is something I connect with a lot of Frootania's entries, and I think it stands out amongst the country's entries. Before posting, I was considering a variety of songs but in the end, I believe that this is one of the best entries Frootania has sent as well as a great representation of Dennis' FC style.

Ashley Nicolette FrangipaneFantasia Fest (Danskanksova) Sufjan Stevens - "Fourth of July"(timeslot 3:30+)"Fourth of July" was sent in Fantasia 15 and finished in 4th place, receiving 308 points. It's not Danskanksova's best result, with the country having placed in the top two on multiple occasions, but personally it's my absolute favourite entry from Danskanksova and one of my favourite FC entries ever. The song is a conversation between Sufjan and his mother, Carrie, while she was dying in the hospital. Each stanza alternates between them.
[Verse 1] The evil, it spread like a fever ahead It was night when you died, my firefly What could I have said to raise you from the dead? Oh, could I be the sky on the Fourth of July?
[Chorus 1] "Well, you do enough talk My little hawk, why do you cry? Tell me, what did you learn from the Tillamook burn? Or the Fourth of July? We’re all gonna die"
[Verse 2] Sitting at the bed with the halo at your head Was it all a disguise, like junior high? Where everything was fiction, future, and prediction Now, where am I? My fading supply
[Chorus 2] "Did you get enough love, my little dove? Why do you cry? And I’m sorry I left, but it was for the best Though it never felt right My little Versailles"
[Verse 3] The hospital asked, "Should the body be cast?" Before I say goodbye, my star in the sky Such a funny thought to wrap you up in cloth Do you find it all right, my dragonfly?
[Chorus 3] "Shall we look at the moon, my little loon? Why do you cry? Make the most of your life, while it is rife While it is light Well, you do enough talk My little hawk, why do you cry? Tell me, what did you learn from the Tillamook burn? Or the Fourth of July? We’re all gonna die"
[Outro] We're all gonna die We're all gonna die We're all gonna die We're all gonna die We're all gonna die We're all gonna die We're all gonna die

"VENUS FLY" Grimes ft. Janelle Monáe S2E2: Fantasia Fest
2:55+
The country I was assigned was Vradiazi and the entry I decided to go with is "Venus Fly" by both Grimes and Janelle Monáe. I feel this entry was ahead of its time as it aged like fine wine compared to what I thought of it when it initially took part. The song unfortunately failed to qualify back in FC #9 and I think that choosing this song now would help give it a second opportunity to show people how robbed it was. The song has clear feminism lyrics about being objectivied by both men and the music industry iteslf. Moreover, the high energy of the song clashes with the rest of the songs sent this week, making the recap and song-listening more diverse and entertaining.
| LYRICS
Hey Oh why you looking at me? (Against the music) Hey Oh why you looking at me? (Baby I can use it)
Why you looking at me now? Why you looking at me again? What if I pulled my teeth? Cut my hair underneath my chin
Wrap my curls all around the world Throw my pearls all across the floor Feel my beat like a sniper girl ('Cause I want it more)
Hey, what about me? Oh, why you looking at me? Oh, why you looking at me? (Against the music)
Hey, what about me? Oh, why you looking at me? Oh, why you looking at me? (Baby I can use it)
Pitty, pitty, pitty pat Why you always doing that? Why you always talking smack? Yeah, Grimes got my back
Pitty, pitty, pitty pat Why you always call it black? Why you always talking smack? Yeah, Grimes-
Chorus

FANTASIA FEST Polyna - Angel (ALKYRIA #07) Timeslot: 03:06,5+ Alkyria's a country filled with a handful of amazing songs, it was really hard for me to pick one as I love many of them (even if I don't want to admit that as it used to be Frootania's biggest rival back then). A powerhouse from the begnning, Aliya managed to leave a legacy of iconic entries behind. This entry embodies Alkyria at its core: mysterious and powerful, majestic, dominating the field by carefully analysing its opponents. It placed 4th overall which was a surprise to some as it was unpredictable, while I always thought this was a very strong contender to win. I also want to show this older and more iconic side of Alkyria, as opposed to their newer entries, which I find to be more appealing overall. I saw a lonely angel Lonely angel in the sky He wants to make us stop our fights Alkyria won twice already, one of the few countries to do so, and while many are fans of those entries, I believe this song is actually better than both, captivating from the beginning to the end. I also like the message behind it, calling us out to stop waging wars among another. Last week I was once again called out for fading into the background. If this ain't doing it for you, I don't know what will tbh
