Nihonvision: A New Contest
As the name suggests, Nihonvision is a contest in the same vein as Own USAVision, which you can only compete as one of the 47 prefectures of Japan. Confirmations are open, and you can confirm your intrest in this thread.
Rules
I. Entry Rules
1. (Junior) Eurovision songs are not allowed. Disqualified/withdrawn ESC NS winners are also not allowed.
2. Songs must have been released since 2010
3. Covers and remixes are allowed, as long as the original or another cover/remix hasn't been sent yet and not of a popular song.
4. Instrumentals and revamps are also allowed.
5. Even though it is not necessary, originality in your entries is encouraged. Songs that have come top 5 in multiple contests in the forum can be rejected at the discretion of the host.
6. Songs that have participated in the finals of either NVSC or FC won’t be allowed due to how popular the contests are. However, a song that was only in the semifinals will be allowed, only if the song hasn’t been sent to essentially every contest in the forum.
II. Artist Rules
1. Artist can be of any age.
2. Artist must have a relatively fair to strong connection to the prefecture they're representing. (residence, group formation, currently based in prefecture, etc.)
3. For groups and collaborations, at least 20% of the members has to be from or have roots from the prefecture they're representing, unless the collaboration or group has more than 10 singers. Then, only 15% have to be from said prefecture.
3a. If a group has had graduated members, meaning they left the group, they don't count towards the group's percentage from that prefecture
4. The artist(s) must be alive to participate.
5. Sending artists that are just Japanese but with no connection to a prefecture are NOT allowed (sorry Jhené Aiko)
III. Player Rules
1. Once you take a prefecture, it will be yours until you withdraw/take another free prefecture.
2. If at least 26 prefecture confirm, there will be two semi finals and a grand final consisting of 20.
IV. Voting Rules
1. The voting style depends on the number of participants. It may be the standard Eurovision style if 11 or more countries compete, or it may even be the Melodifestivalen style for 8-10 countries.
2. It will usually take 7 days to vote.
3. In case a tie has occured, whichever prefecture gets points from the most prefectures will get the higher position. If there is a tie in the number of prefectures awarding points, then a countback (which is basically whoever gets a higher amount of 12 points, 10 points, 8 points, and so on gets advantage) will be used as a tiebreaker.
V. Strike Rules
1. A user may recieve one (1) strike if you:
- fail to confirm/withdraw by the deadline.
- fail to send an entry by the deadline.
- fail to vote by the deadline without requesting replacement votes.
2. A user may recieve half (½) a strike if you... (before the official "deadline has passed" announcement):
- confirmed after the deadline.
- send an entry after the deadline.
- vote after the deadline.
3. A user will unfortunately be banned from participating for two (2) editions once they recieve five (5) strikes. Their prefecture will also become free.
4. A strike may be removed from the user each time they vote for 3 editions in a row, whether they're required to or not.
5. If a user has been caught cheating, they will be indefinitely/permanently banned from participating in the contest.
