Please welcome our extra special guest judge...Generic White Girl (Aglan )!Daniel: Chile, isn't your dress smelly by this point? GWG: No girl, I'm using generic white cloth softener. This week, we asked our queens to send cover songs that are better than their original.
Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines, and may the best song win!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS It is now time to start with the judges' critiques. Starting with Shirley Sixchins (Ste)!
Ika: I felt it in my bones that you are one to watch this season, and girl, my eyes don't be deceiving me. This week you delivered through and through! I'm so happy to see the Karen of this season get what she deserves. The original of your song was a bore, a snooze, a disaster, but your cover.... whew, I was transported to a higher dimension, to the heavens and above with this ethereal piece. True beauty right here. Keep going!
Neda: I thought it'd be hard for you to top how hard you snapped last week but girl you have done it again. Constantly raising the bar for the rest of these girls. This cover was EXCELLENCE, exactly what I was looking for in this challenge. The original is pleasant but this was 6 minutes of ethereal eargasm, from the vocal to the backing to the way it built. Kelsey really made this classic her own, you have a lot to be proud of.
GWG: Will start off saying that your entry was not my fav of the week but that being said you for sure outshined in every other category. You nailed the challenge while showing something exciting to us. Two great weeks from you Shirley and honestly I think you are a huge contender from seeing your entries and your reasoning to picking them. Continue to excellent job and you will go very far.
Thank you, Shirley. Up next is Anna Borshin!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS Moving on to Miss Borshin (Jens), hi doll!
Vicky: I feel like this was lowkey a lazy choice. It's not a very inventive choice, even though the cover is definitely better than the original. I just think you could've done better especially given you were in the bottom placements last week.
GWG: Your choice was a big head scratcher. I love the song you picked and I do think you kind of stayed true to the challenge. The main issue I have with your entry is something that I have heard in Season 6 a lot. Your entry lacks originality and in my humble opinion it didn’t even stand out. If you make it to next week, I hope you improve because not doing well two weeks in a row is a place that I am too familiar with and you cannot count on others underperforming.
Ika: You're making me regret my life decisions in joining this panel, but here we are. Excluding the fact that this choice was the least out of the box, the least creative, lest we forget the least inspired choice this week, in my opinion - you forgot one crucial detail. I just never liked this cover. For years, it's gotten under my skin and the song as a whole just annoys me ever since that incident. It was just a bad choice all around. Please focus more on your originality because I have a feeling that's where you'll shine more.
Thank you, Anna. Up next is Indica Grahams!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS Next up is Indica Grahams (Syr)!
GWG: Now for something more controversial. Indica I will say that I really liked your entry you picked THAT being said, I do not think it is better than the original version. I like your entry, I like the choice but I just like the original way more and that is my main problem with your pick. So I liked your choice but was confused by it at the end, it didn’t stand out much, it was not better than the original and that is mostly the reason why are you here at the moment.
Neda: I don't care what the rest of these judges have to say, they're all talking shit, because this cover was FANTASTIC. I love Lianne La Havas and, after listening to the original, I was curious as to what she was going to do with this song, but I actually do think she improved it. Really stunning, especially the climax which I think was executed better in Lianne's version than in the original. I loved it.
Ika: I'm sorry Neda, I just have to make stop you there for a second and pipe down your delusion. Indica, sweetie, hello. So... your song this week just wasn't it. In actuality, I preferred the original. Your song felt really flat for three minutes when I could have been doing something that was worth my time, and then she just decided to sing in a type of voice that reminds me of the 90s sitcoms I absolutely despise. The only positive is that the instrumental was nice, but this is a cover week, and when I think your cover is worse than the original - I'm going to dock you for that. Next.
Thank you, Indica. Up next is Potissa!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS Moving on to our Slovenian beauty, Potissa (jara)! I must say, I personally loved your choice! Let's see what the other judges thought.Vicky:Ok let's start from this. Video Games by Trixie is good. But the original is untouchable, honestly. Nothing can ever beat that. It's sad because the cover isn't bad but it's just a poor choice for this challenge.Ika:Child... Absolutely disgusting, horrible and all in all, a trash effort from a queen that I was expecting more from than simply turning a beautiful and artistic baroque pop song into a whiny and utterly outrageous attempt at something called music. From the makeup to the vocal progression, this was just bad. Bland. Dated. Worse than the original. Annoying. Annoying, jesus, yeah that's the word.Neda:Girl, I do not like to shout at queens unless it's shouting with joy, but what the FUCK was this??? I have been following Daniel's Song Race for 9 seasons now and this is the first entry that has actively offended me because girl, this is in absolutely no way, shape or form better than the original. Video Games is a masterpiece, one of the defining songs of an entire modern sub genre, and to send... that??? Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake honey. And I say this out of love because I believe you can do SO much better than this, but nooooo not this. In no way was this more ethereal than the original, this turned a beautiful song into a generic folk/country ballad, maybe pleasant enough as a standalone song, but in THIS week? Absolutely not. No.Thank you, Potissa. Up next is Mei Din China!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS Ni hao Mei Din China (MaRtIn )!GWG:I have to say this a major step up from what I have seen last week Mei. You were not my personal favorite but your entry absolutely fit the challenge, you also picked a good song which never hurts in this competition. I think if you keep continuing with this improvement you will be unstoppable.Ika:What a turnaround, on each and every floor! From that absolute tragedy last week, having to hear one of the worst songs in DSR herstory, to possibly one of the best... I knew you had it in you! The original of this is fine for what it is, but girl, GIRL, that cover. That rework was such a catchy piece of modern art that is meant to be understood as something that is simply known as a masterpiece. Great, great, great, great work. I will be bopping to this through all the ages.Neda:YES this is such an improvement from last week! I enjoy the original in a nostalgic way but this cover really elevated the song and brought it into the 21st century. Amber Mark is a fantastic artist and while this cover maybe shouldn't have worked on paper, I really loved what she did with it. A bold choice, but very much paid off, well done.Vicky:Another serve this week, god bless you my dear. I'd never heard this cover and I'm glad I did because the original is so annoying, but the cover is highkey iconic.Thank you, Mei. Last but not least is Antonia!

EPISODE 2 · RESULTS Hi Miss Antonia di Luce (Wysteria)!Vicky:I actually prefer the original to your cover, which I guess means you basically failed this challenge. I find the cover version quite boring compared to the original song.GWG:I will be honest, I kind of forgot about your entry in the first place. Not that it’s bad or anything but it for sure didn’t make me excited for what you have to show in this competition. I will once again use my wisdom from my fav judge Manndi and say that you have the potential so don’t waste it like I did and show us those guys what are you made off if you get the chance. Don’t fade into the background.Neda:This is a nice song but it doesn't really feel like it does much different, let alone better, than the original. It definitely modernises it but otherwise I didn't really think this was a cover better than the original which is actually pretty great. And honestly, based on your essay, I'm not sure you were even able to convince yourself that this cover was better than the original, you were flip flopping all over the place there, and you did the same last week. A bit underwhelming all around for me, but I know you can work on it and do better.Ika:Thank you Neda for setting the foundations for me to give this girl a proper grilling. I'm only going to talk about this week briefly and say that you did a very fine job, but fine doesn't really cut it. Your song was fine, but ultimately, unremarkable. Now... onto my main issue with you. You cannot write pure shit in your post and not expect to get called out on it by this panel. Back in week one, you talked about how both of your songs are about corruption when one of them is literally about a Lithuanian forest and the other one is about mental health. Good God girl, get a grip. If you want to be taken seriously in this competition, you have to take us seriously and not give us fake essays that quite frankly are lies, plain and simple. I wouldn't have accepted the call to judge this competition if I had to deal with (EXPLETIVE) like this. You've really pissed me off. You can go now. She can go... girlThank you Antonia.Dolls! While you untuck backstage, the judges an I will deliberate. You may leave the stage.
