EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Let's now move on to the judges' critiques. Starting with Potissa (jara)!
Vicky: I honestly really like your song this week. Not as amazed as I was with previous entries of yours or some other songs this week, but I’m still satisfied with your consistency lately. You proved that your few missteps in the competition did not hold you back and you can still show up.
Neda: Miss Indica has a really interesting top 20, a lot of interesting and varied songs on that list, and this kinda fell a little bit flat for me as a representation of that? I feel like if you wanted to go down the Korean route there were better options that would've stood out more, but this, while kinda cute I guess, didn't really snap for me.
Dyslexya: Hi honey. I must say when I started listening to this song it didn’t stand out to me compared to some other songs your competitors chose this week. I must confess I’m just not a big fan of Korean pop and especially not when it’s done like this I’m just more a Blackpink kind of girl. But when the piano or keyboard solo came along I was very surprised, that part was amazing to listen to and I really really enjoyed it so I agree with you, it was also my favourite part of the song. But unfortunately it was not enough to make me stan it.
Ika: Girl, what the fuck is this mess. You had Indica Grahams girl... Indica Grahams. I appreciate that you wanted to show off a side of Indica's music taste that we all know, yet Indica keeps hidden to herself, but this wasn't the choice. It just wasn't the choice. I'm going through her list now, with rose-tinted glasses mind you, and I can count at least nineteen better choices than this. This song was just all in all boring really, it didn't go anywhere, didn't do anything, failed to excite me, and yeah. It started off very promisingly, but the chorus just fizzled out into a bunch of nothingness. This may be more of a critique of Indica than on you, and I feel like she will take it that way, that's on her. Back to you. The singers had lovely voices, but they could have combined it much better in that chorus. And you know the worst thing. You assigned Indica Grahams to YOURSELF. No talk of struggle or whatever. I would love to have a conversation to know what possessed you into making this faulty decision. I'm free Monday at 20 CET if it suits you?
Thank you, Potissa. Up next is Reed Acted!

EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Moving on to Reed Acted (αndreas)!
Ika: This isn't something I expected to see from Reed Acted in the history of DSR, but boy am I glad that this ballroom piece has made its way here. I've been a fan of Zebra Katz, unbeknownst to many on the forum, for quite some time, so when I saw this, I knew it was the serve... bitch she's the serve. My only critique was I wished you put whose last.fm you received, because I forgot, but unlike many queens this week, I also have enough research potential to check that out this week. I've heard behind the scenes that you may not be the most invested in this competition, but in these last two weeks, you've shown, at least to me, that you want to stay here and keep on fighting for that crown. Now, if you could just get in a win or two, you wouldn't be doing too shabby
Vicky: I would not say I’m a big fan of this genre of music, but then again it always depends on the song itself. And this one is probably one of the songs that I really like. My absolute favorite this week, honestly. Thank you to both you Reed - and Sativa of course - for having taste and introducing us to this banger. I literally went on and listened to the whole album backstage afterwards, that’s how good it is. This is the time for you to finally show up and show us that you are here to win.
Dyslexya: This was a very interesting song listening experience for me. At first listen I didn’t really vibe with it but It grew on me once I listened to it some more but I feel like the song went on a little bit too long and it got a little bit repetitive towards the end which isn’t a good sign for me. Conclusion you where middle of the road for me compared to all the other songs this week which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Neda: This was a really solid pick I think, there were a lot of great songs on the list you were given and this is up there as one of the better ones, and even though it's not necessarily the best song you could've picked, I appreciate that it's a creative pick as well over some of the safer options. Good job doll.
Thank you, Reed. Up next is Sativa Grahams!

EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Hello Miss Sativa Knowles (agni)!
Dyslexya: First of all let me say I completely acknowledge that you had the hardest job by far this week with the list you got to chose from. But honey I’m sorry but this week your song wasn’t it for me and I must judge as fair and square as I can. Sending Beyonce just isn’t that original but I think you know that. And once again I know your choices were limited as I said earlier and you got screwed over big time when the lists where assigned.
Ika: Let me just hold in my laughter. No? No, I can't do it. I just need to let this cackle out. Girl... I know you got a queen who barely uses the FM, but girl... there were better choices than a Beyoncé song that is not in my style at all. You said to the esteemed panel of judges, and Ika, don't think I didn't notice the dig, to listen to this. I regret that choice massively. I would drag this song even if it wasn't Beyoncé because this is just dated delusion... What went wrong doll? I don't think this is a hurdle you're prepared to overcome at any cost, who can get over someone sending "Listen" by Beyoncé like... miss girl, miss sweetie. You couldn't have sent Natalia Kills - "Mirrors", you could have gone for the Maidza's "Shook", you could have even gone for the "Stark" but no no no you decide to send this. Get out of this room, go shed a tear, and reflect on your poor decision making skills this week. Please improve, because I enjoy you on a personal level sometimes!!
Vicky: I’m gonna start off by saying that I felt sorry about you this week. And with that, I wanna say that given your very limited choices this week, I think you did give us the best possible song of the bunch, but it just felt short. Unfortunately. Of course Listen is an iconic song but… Beyoncé Miss Potissa set you up girl.
Neda: Doll I think you've been ganghandled this week, I don't know what else people were expecting from this list that would've got any better reception. Did they want Stark by Barbi Escobar? Because doll in my eyes you did far from stand in the middle of that stage while people ran around you, you were working your legs and you earned yourself a good result. This song is iconic, the legend herself. You did everything you could.
Thank you, Sativa. Up next is Sapphire D. Lux!

EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Moving on to Sapphire D. Lux (Josh's Tattoo (Inactive))!
Neda: Oh dear, you really did serve us up some Marta Barta realness. As in, Marta Barta sent this exact song to week 1 and was safe with it. It is a bop, and I get why you chose it, but like, this just feels lazy, it was easy to check whether this song had been sent before but it appears that that just went over your head. It's a shame.
Vicky: Sapphire my dear, I can’t believe you are involved in this week’s two big messes. Both you and the queen that got your last.fm were in trouble. Yes, your song is definitely a banger… that we heard on the premiere of the season. The clownery of sending a song that was already on the show, and on the same season even, girl it’s too much. I cannot believe none of these shady bitches told you anything, but it makes sense now that we’re about halfway through. It’s a pity because your song is a banger.
Dyslexya: What happened? Using a song that was already used earlier is not a big deal if the song was previously used in a different season, but using a song that was used in the same season is just not a good look sweetie I’m so sorry! And on top of that I must confess I didn’t really enjoy the song either. But let me tell you I’m proud of you for making it so far already and I hope you can step your pussy up during the next weeks.
Ika: Oh Sapphire, sweetie, I know you're a sensitive soul, but you've been Marta Barta'd by Marta Barta in being assigned Marta Barta. I really do feel bad for you, I truly do. There were many good choices on Marta's last.fm, including this song, but you just had to go with the one choice that already competed in this season. What hurts me more doll is that not one of your fellow contestants told you this, it's a tragedy that you were ganghandled by them in this way for their own personal gain, but at the same time, I've got to respect the game-changing move that they pulled here. If this was on TV, whew, perhaps it could have even compared to some of my BBCAN5 best moments?
My main critique this week really is just the fact that the song was already in THIS SEASON, because as a song itself, as I said before , it's a really good song and I quite enjoy it. It picks up well and develops itself nicely into something warm. And that's before it showed up in You Decide. Some better choices from Marta's last.fm include "Bipping", "Sex Party", "Dreamsicle", "Give It" (but that would've been risky) and "Ponyboy", not a song that barely scraped its way into the top twenty...
Oh my god, girl, I can see the tears dripping from your hazel eyes It's proper upsetting, isn't it. Would you like to come over to me and hug it out? Come on over, it'll make good television.
Girl, no, I was kidding, are you for real. There is a virus, what are you thinking... Stay over there girl and do NOT even consider taking an international flight over! Let me just wave bye from a distance at the poor decision you made.
Thank you, Sapphire. Up next is Alinka Tcheps!

EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Next up is Alinka Tcheps (Sylwia)!
Dyslexya: OMG this song is everything for me! Definitely among my favourites this week. This song has such a beautiful build up towards the chorus and when it hits it’s just perfect. Like you said this song is so dark but friendly and cozy at the same time and well I must say I couldn’t have said it better myself. This is your best song so far at least in my opinion. Very well done honey!
Ika: I must say doll, I always love your writeups, they are always to the point, yet give us all the information we need. Now, this song is really good and I've enjoyed it for a long time. You had quite a few options from Reed's last.fm to go with, for sure, yet your decision felt just right. A song that hasn't gotten that much exposure, furthered by just being an all round good song, it truly left me blown. Continue this trajectory upward, you know you have it in you, I feel it in my stomach. Truly the light that keeps on giving.
Neda: At the start of the week I looked at all of the queens' last.fms and one song stood out to me - I KNEW that song would be my winner in the unlikely event that a queen decides to send it. And as unlikely as it seemed, girl, you have done it. Reed Acted had a lot of great songs for you to choose from, but this just has it all - as a song and as a selection from her list. It's creative, it shows thought, and the song is excellence. Fantastic job this week my dear.
Vicky: This song has a special place in my heart. I would not call it a completely original choice since it’s been around in the contests, but it’s undeniably a really great song. We appreciate Danish talent in this competition lately.
Thank you, Alinka Tcheps. Last but not least is Indica Grahams!

EPISODE 8 · RESULTS Moving on to Indica Grahams (Syr)!
Neda: All around, probably the best song you could've chosen this week. What a BANGER, I can't say I wouldn't have picked the exact same song. It's fresh, it's interesting, it's unique, and it slaps. Nothing more to say, congratulations.
Vicky: Here comes the ultimate banger of the week. I don’t really have anything else to say, other than that really. I absolutely love this song and I think you did choose the best song out of your possible choices. Well done, Indica!
Ika: "Look what a joke you've made me" felt very fitting a song for you to send, but who's laughing now? Certainly not your competition, as you stormed this week. When I did my research on each queen's last.fms to see if there were any hidden bangers I would stan... I knew that Alinka was a hidden threat, but everyone would throw her off because of Jon Bellion. This was a smart choice, a true slapper, and I've always enjoyed me some Noga Erez. Is this the start of something great from Indica Grahams? The courtroom's still out on that one, but enjoy your success, while it lasts.
Dyslexya: Honey I’m just going to say it you slayed this week and I agree with you 100% that it is “a huge fucking banger”! I immediately put in my playlist which means it’s one of my favourites this week. Judging on the earlier weeks I think this is by far your best song yet and I must say I’m proud of you sweetie. I’m very much looking forward to see you slay until the end cause if you keep it up like this I’m sure you will make it to the top. Well done xo
Thank you, Indica.
Alright, thank you ladies. I think we've heard enough.
