SRI LANKA CONFIRMS!and reveals who will represent the island Sri Lanka is ready to reveal that the indian island will be present in the upcoming edition of the Own Asiavision Song Contest even if the local population were kinda disappointed about the final result of "Over Again" after an amazing, wonderful and unexpected 2nd place back in the 23rd edition. SLBC opened the submissions for local and diaspora artists in early November and them were closed one week ago. After that an unknown critique jury composed by ex-participants, who weren't interested to coming back in the contest, has raked all the artists' submission with 1-12 points. Yesterday the delegation has revealed that the top 5 submissions which received more points were shortlisted again in only one and this is...Nilusi Nissanka! She has also revealed this fantastic news in a live on Instagram. Nilusi and her history in the Own Asiavision Song Contest Nilusi Nissanka, most known as Nilusi, was born on February 12, 2000 in Sri Lanka. She's most well known as a member of the French singing group Kids United. The group formed in 2015 as part of a campaign for UNICEF and went on to release the hit album Un monde meilleur in 2016. Even if Nilusi has represented once Monaco at the Own Eurovision Song Contest, she tried different times to participate in the asian version of the contest: she tried to represent the island already in the 22nd edition, but in the end Sri Lanka withdrew; she tried again in the following edition when she convinced SLBC to return to the contest under a new broadcaster, she was shortlisted by the jury against Arjun and Vidya Vox but she lost for only 6 points of difference; she tried once again last edition but in the end Nilusi decided to not send her submission and she joined the jury. Now she is finally in the amazing contest!
Selection method: Ladaee Sri Lanka has also revealed today that SLBC will host a digital national selection where two songs of Nilusi will compete to represent the island. Some rumors on a Sri Lankan website says that probably one of the song will featuring another artist, while the second song is called "Solo". Will these rumors be right? We will know it soon with "Ladaee".
