OMAN CONFIRMS
After successfully hosting the previous OASC edition in Muscat, the proud Gulf state confirms their participation in Fiji. Talks are already in progress by the delegation to determine who will represent Oman in the upcoming edition. The act and song will be revealed simultaneously in due time.
So that was a f*cking lie. I changed my mind.
The Omani national broadcaster and delegation decided that they couldn't wait any longer. They've made up their minds.
Qurram Hussain is a well-known name in the South Asian music scene. Born in Muscat, this Pakistani musician was a member of a South Asian fusion band based in Montréal and has created remixes for superstars including Priyanka Chopra, Pitbull, and Nelly Furtado. For OASC, he will perform solo. Hussain will compete in Fiji with his track "Dastaan".

The Omani delegation is grateful for his willingness to represent his country of birth and wishes only the best and good fortune for him.

TAIWAN CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION AND ARTIST Taiwan Television (TTV) has confirmed today that Taiwan will be taking part in the Own Asiavision Song Contest 27. After the recent successful streak was continued with JVNA finishing in fourth place in Muscat, the country is once again directly qualified to the final, making it no secret that the broadcaster will be sending their twentieth representative to the fellow island nation of Fiji, especially when the first Taiwanese victory was achieved back in the eighth edition in the country's capital of Suva.
With that in mind, the delegation will stick to their internal selection procedure which gave the country three consecutive left-hand-side placements, two of them being in the top six. Several names have been put forward, meetings have taken place and the selected representative was presented just now during the regular TTV press conference. Welcome back...
Jolin Tsai
Jolin Tsai is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter and actress. Referred to as the "Queen of C-Pop", she is considered one of the most influential people in Chinese popular culture. She is known for her continual reinvention and versatility in music style and visual image, and has achieved great reputation and popularity in Chinese-speaking world. She is also regarded as a huge role of popularizing dance-pop as mainstream music in Greater China and she remains completely in charge of every aspect of her career. Her works, which incorporate social themes, have generated both commercial success and critical acclaim.
With sales of over 25 million records, Jolin is the highest-selling Taiwanese female recording artist since 2000. Since her 2003 album Magic, all of her studio albums became at least the year's highest-selling album by a female artist in Taiwan, four of which even became the year's highest-selling album in the country. She has won six Golden Melody Awards, making her the female Mandopop artist with the most wins at the awards. She has also been ranked top 20 six times on the Forbes China Celebrity 100, and three times of which she was even ranked the highest-paid female singer on the list with a net worth of over NT$2 billion.
In addition, Jolin is already familiar among the Own Asiavision community as she had previously represented Taiwan in the third edition where she placed sixth in the final with the song "I'm Not Yours", performed together with Namie Amuro. After being touted as an ideal candidate by contest fans for editions, the acceptance of her coming participation will be her first appearance as a solo artist. It was also announced during the press conference that a public song selection will take place with TTV viewers having the opportunity to pick her song for Fiji. The singer is currently working with local and international producers on potential entries with more details to follow.
