Emy Perez to wave the Venezuelan flag in Belize! ¡Emy Perez ondeará la bandera venezolana en Belice! Emy Perez sventolerà la bandiera venezuelana in Belize! On 3 October 2021, Venezuelan broadcaster VTV confirmed the country's obvious presence in Belize. After Patricia's unexpected failure to advance to the Grand Final and subsequent worst result ever for the country, the broadcaster is determined to move on and hopes to come back to the Grand Final as soon as possible. That's why we have chosen our next entry which is ready to be presented: Boris Way feat. Emy Perez • No More (Boom Boom)
Boris Way is a producer and DJ originally from the French riviera. He played in rock bands in his early life and as a teenager, he played the guitar and the drums after having discovered his interest in clubbing. His career began as a disc jockey in clubs of Nice, which is the city he settled in. He is the second male artist (after Carlos Baute in edition #7) to have ever represented Venezuela. But, as always, he will not be alone because otherwise he simply wouldn't be able to represent us. That's why he is featuring Emy Perez, globally renowned for co-writing some of the biggest hits of the last decade, this Venezuelan musical mastermind has cemented her position as one of the industry’s driving forces. She is the voice behind the song which will represent Venezuela this edition.
Timeslot • TBA
History of Venezuela in the Own Americavision Song Contest Venezuela was one of the original 37 members of the OABA when it first took part to Own Americavision, more precisely to the first ever edition in Peru, where Aneeka represented the country with her song "Ojo por Ojo". The following edition, the country was represented by no other than Gaby Noya, Corina Smith and Vanessa Suárez. The trio managed to achieve a new best result for the country: a 12th place. Following a one-edition break, Venezuelan goddess Romi Palmisano represented the country with her banger "Complice", again achieving a new best result by climbing the top 12 and placing 11th. In edition #5 the country also achieved its first non-qualification, followed by another one-edition absence, after which the country returned in #7 under a new management, which also didn't last long as Venezuela withdrew (again!) in edition #8. The country finally returned in edition #9, hosted in Los Angeles, where Alaya placed 23rd. The following edition Venezuela upgraded once again their best result, when Isasi B and Mabel Yeah took the country in the top 6 for the first time ever, also achieving the country's first automatic qualification up to date. On 11 April 2021, it was announced that Yesy Milano had already been selected to represent the Bolivarian Republic with her song "Mala, Falsa, Mala". The singer managed to place 25th in the Grand Final. Patricia Zavala then represented the Latin American country on the Caribbean island of Jamaica, unfortunately failing to qualify for the final, but still escaping the Quarter-final-zone at a respectable 15th place, despite it being Venezuela's worst result to date. Boris Way, the second male artist to represent Venezuela in 10 editions, featuring Emy Perez will represent her country in the Central American nation of Belize, hoping to avenge Patricia's non-qualification. We wish best of luck to all the participants and to them!
