The Queen of Bahrain will finally represent us in Japan!!ملكة البحرين ستمثلنا أخيرًا في اليابان To commemorate my tenth participation in this contest as Bahraini Head of Delegation, I've decided to bring someone special to Japan. It's been ten crazy editions, decorated with failures, records, firsts and successes. After thinking about it a lot, I've decided it's finally time to bring one of those artists I didn't initially want to send for Bahrain, as I thought they might be considered too unoriginal and wanted to show how many other singers I could find from this country that I apparently took by mere chance. Without further ado, it's finally HER time. Hala will represent Bahrain for the first time to celebrate 10 editions with the new HoD. Hala was born on May 15, 2002 to a Bahraini father and a Syrian-Jordanian mother in Manama, Bahrain. She started her career through the program Little Star (Arabic: ستار صغار) in 2009, but came to prominence in 2011 through her participation as a contestant on Arabs Got Talent. She, however, was eliminated but went on to establish a successful career as a child singer. She is currently signed to AlTurk Productions. In 2014, she hosted the entertainment program Huwa Wa-hay Wahi (Arabic: هو وهاي وهي) during the month of Ramadan alongside Haya Al Shuaibi, Amal Al Awadhi and Bashar Al Shatti.
Hala (حلا) and Julian • Ok Habibi (اوكي حبيبي) Hala Al Turk and Julian will be singing "Ok Habibi" on the stage in Japan. The song was released on 2 August 2018. Huge thanks to Mark K. as this song was also recently suggested by him.
Timeslot • To be decided later tonight
History of Bahrain in Own Asiavision Song Contest The small Gulf country debuted in the fourteenth edition, hosted in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, and was welcomed with a dead last placement in its semifinal, brought by Ala Ghawas and his Veteran, followed by another non-qualification in Palestine. The country then returned in #17 and achieved its first qualification, thanks to Ahllam and her bop Nafas. Ahllam would later return under Bahrain's current, at the time new, delegation, in Laos, and achieve the country's second and last qualification to date, with her Persian banger Sheytoon. Unfortunately the country hasn't been able to qualify since then, with the most successful result being a 13th place in its semifinal in #21. Last edition, Assala managed to qualify from the Quarter Final, but scored a 14th place in her semi, luckily escaping this edition's QF. Hanan Redha represented the country in Taiwan in edition #25, with her song "Shafti Ana", which unfortunately ended up 17th in her semifinal, thus forcing Assala to return the following edition in yet another Quarter-final. To the surprise of many, Assala manage to qualify from both the Quarter-final and her semifinal, ultimately finishing 6th overall and giving Bahrain its first automatic qualification. The following edition, Bahraini band Rooftop and soloist Esraa Jay represented their country in the Fijian final with their hit "Change", scoring a last place overall with just 25 points. Majid Jordan represented the country in Dushanbe with their song "Waves of Blue", placing 8th in their semifinal and 12th overall. The 29th edition of the contest, celebrated in Japan, marked an important milestone as it was the tenth edition with their current Head of Delegation. To celebrate such important achievement, the broadcaster chose respectable Hala Al Turk, who, together with Iraqi-American rapper Julian, will represent the country, hoping to continue our streak of successful results. The artist was rumored numerous times to represent the country since the new delegation took off, resulting every time in the delegation having to debunk those rumors. Hala also tried to represent the country a couple times before edition #20, but was always rejected as she didn't meet the age requirements to compete in the contest. We wish best of luck to all the participants and to her and Julian and may she light up the stage in Japan!
