NEW CALEDONIA ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION AND ARTIST!
Nouméa, 26 Janvier - After Chloë Black defied expectations on her way to a 10th place finish in the finals, including winning the semi final over the highest placing nation from SF1 in the final, Não te convidei and Own Song of the Year 2021 competitor Ambak, the hype for the contest resurged in the island, as the finals of the 28th edition were one of the most viewed television programs of 2021 on the islands. Following this, CanalSat Calédonie and Head of Delegation Miho Aogawa, confirmed the Caledonian participation in the twenty-ninth edition of Own Asiavision Song Contest which will be held in Japan.
An artist has been selected to wave the flag of New Caledonia in Tajikistan, and we are ready to introduce them to everyone.
“We want to thank Chloë Black for courageously representing our nation for the second time in Dushanbe. While we are slightly disapointed by the total of 10th place issued, this won't affect our ability to serve more Caledonian works of art. Yes I'm repeating my speech from the last batch of editions. What about it? But now that we will be heading to my home nation, we think it's time for something fun”

Which one will be announced at a later date.

Musique de Nouvelle-Calédonie à was put on hold again for the 26th edition, as CanalSat Calédonie revealed that Sandy Factory would represent the nation with her song Dis moi, where she sadly placed 19th in the semi with a meger amount of 19 points, netting the special collectivity a spot in the pre-qualification round in Nadi, which was eventually cancelled due to a lack of participants. Mickaël Pouvin was tapped to represent the nation once again following this notice, where he once again was 10th in the semi, but wasn't able to recreate the success of his previous attempt, placing 22nd. Musique de Nouvelle-Calédonie à was revived in the 28th edition, with Aussie-Caledonian Chloë Black being tapped as the Caledonian representitive. Black ended up placing 10th in the final, winning the semi final by fifteen points over Timor Leste's Chong Kwong while on her path to the final.
