We discovered that this song is not eligible anymore. The Manx member of the band left it in 2016, and when the song was released, they weren’t part of the band anymore.

Deirdre Graham to join Niteworks for the United Kingdom! Published: Isle of Skye, 18 February 2024
After an exciting competition between six invited Gàidhlig singers and ten songs collaborated with the internally selected Niteworks, the international judge panel consisting of professional juries from Albania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Finland, Norway and San Marino has casted their opinions and votes regarding entries and performances. The second winner of Own Eurovision: Unite Up for Music and the United Kingdom's representative in the 62nd Own Eurovision Song Contest alongside Niteworks is now determined and ready to be publicly presented. Please give a warm welcome for...
Deirdre Graham!
Deirdre Graham is a Scottish Gaelic singer raised in a musical family on the Isle of Skye. Due to that, Deirdre was steeped in Gaelic culture from an early age. She went on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before moving to China and Malaysia, where she embraced the local music and traditions. Since returning home Deirdre has been active in promoting Gaelic music. Taking a contemporary approach to Scottish Gaelic singing, Deirdre's raw and emotive vocal performances combine with rich orchestration to evoke powerful themes in song and story. Since the release of her debut album, URRANTA in 2020, Deirdre has risen in prominence in the Scottish folk music scene, performing across Scotland, undertaking collaboration projects, turning her hand to guest presenting on BBC Radio Scotland’s prestigious show ‘Travelling Folk’, and was appointed as Assistant Musical Director for this year’s BBC Alba Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire (Hogmanay show).
The origin of Eilean was taken from the legendary Gàidhlig poem written by the bardess Màiri Mhòr nan Òran from the 18th century, telling her desire to return to Isle of Skye, which she left over forty years ago, when she had to go to the mainland. She went on to speak of the Clearances and the suffering of the dispossessed and told of her hope that one day their cattle may be in the cattlefolds, and the English would be driven out of Skye.
"Eilean" (Island) (Timeslot: 0:00+) United Kingdom in Own Eurovision Song Contest 62 M/L: Allan MacDonald, Christopher Nicolson, Innes Strachan, Màiri Mhòr Nan Òran & Ruairidh Graham
On 18 February, she was announced as the second winner of British national selection Own Eurovision: Unite Up for Music with the amount of 62 points, 8 points ahead of the song "Air fàir an là" collaborated by Sian. Therefore, Deirdre will join Niteworks to fly the Union Jack in Serbia and be the voice of not only Scotland, but also the whole Great Britain in the upcoming European music contest.
Thank you to all 6 international juries for helping us! Best of luck to every participant and to our Niteworks and Deirdre.
