 Iceland has voted and is really looking forward to see the results. The jury members are pleased and RUV has also registered a boom of views. It was a great night, indeed!
Jury Voting:
The jury panel made up by Eyþór Ingi, Steidinn Okkar, Steinar, Erna Hrönn Ólafsdóttir and Rick Mihkelson rated every song from 1 to 100. The maximum a song could get was 500 points.
Televoting:
The Icelandic mobile networks Síminn and Vodafone.is have virtually split the Icelandic territory in four televoting regions, in order to keep under control the votes in a better way. Those regions were The Capital and Southern Iceland with the televoting control panel located in Reykjavik, the Northern Iceland with the televoting control panel in Akureyri, Eastern Iceland with the televoting control panel in Egilsstaðir and Western Iceland with the televoting control panel in the municipality of Ísafjörður
The votes received were 73.237 in the whole country, 1/3 of the Icelandic people who have a mobile phone. In Southern Iceland 59.210 votes were received by the televoting operators in Reykjavik, while in Eastern Iceland, Egilsstaðir's spot received only 1.497 televotes.
According to the Icelandic Audiovisual Council, almost 130.000 people were tuned in on RUV to see the Northvision #7 Grand Final, which makes by far the most viewed edition ever in Iceland. RUV is of course happy of the results, as a reward of the hard work put in promoting Unnur's entry, the national selection and all the advertising campaign. |
