Nina Badric to return to Sounds of Croatia?
Rumours are now around  Croatia that Nina Badric, a former ESC and SoC participant, is looking to tackle the national selection again. The Croatian singer, sang ''Dan D'' at the last selection for Croatia, and came 6th overall. She is also rumoured to become Croatia's first ever OGAN participant, although nothing is/will be confirmed yet. A message on Twitter, saying: ''In Dubrovnik for a little surprise for my fans''.. could this give it away?

But will this take part in Sounds of Croatia #2? You'll know very soon whether or not the Nina rumour came true.

 Croatian jury and televote results for SF and Final released.Today, HRT has decided to release the results of the Croatian jury and televoters in the first semi final and final. In the semi final, the songs ranked by the jury was out of 100. Then it was ranked on accordance with highest to lowest. In the final, however, it was just ranked 1st-10th (and these are countries which got points overall). The televoting for the semi final was done from 12,10-1 (ESC style) and combined to the jury ranks. The televoting for the final was ranked from 1-10. Semi Final

Internal Selection for #12? It's wayy to early to announce anything for #12, but how about Croatia be crazy and announce some plans? While it's only near the 11th edition of North Vision Song Contest, and the excitement is getting more visible in Croatia and Europe, HRT is already going to announce that Sounds of Croatia #3, meant for North Vision Song Contest #12, might not be held. The HoD of Croatia recently released a statement on a popular show dedicated to NVSC in Croatia that: ''HRT and Croatian NVSC team is currently looking at the budget. Participation is a must, but a national selection is in jeopardy. The costs of Sounds of Croatia and the promotion of our artists is starting to put constraints on the broadcaster, and thus the Croatian act can only travel for places around the         Balkan area as it's relatively cheap and near Croatia; but many opportunities for other places to tour is if the act is willing to pay for it; yet HRT tries to help the act out as much as possible. Sounds of Croatia puts pressure on us; respectively 2 editions of it has given us problems, and we may need to let the 3rd go to waste, at least just for an edition, as we can build up a budget for it.''It's unknown whether or not Croatia will host the national selection for #12, but more details and the decision of the broadcaster regarding the national selection will be revealed in due course; favourably after the first semi final of #11. |

Sounds of Croatia #3 won't be held; and won't be held until a suitable budget is formed. In a recent statement, HRT confirmed that they have no interest to host another national selection until a later edition, or at least another national selection like SoC. A representative from HRT released this statement: ''We'll upset some, but finances are tough and we really can't host another. Plus the interest in the beginning-near end of the previous was low. We'll follow like other some countries in NVSC, and choose our acts internally.The main reasons are finances and interest. In #12, the act will be selected internally by the broadcaster to perform in the semi final or pre-qualification round. Suggestions are appreciated; since we've got a few now we'll check and see if we'll use one.. but we are currently looking. |

SEVERINA IS READY FOR NORTH VISION SONG CONTEST #11 It is almost the time that Croatia waits for, the first semi final of North Vision Song Contest. While Croatia will not be in the first semi, HRT is expecting high viewing figures, due to our personal favourites there,  Norway,  Malta,  Russia, Serbia,  Denmark and Albania. The show is going to be live on the Friday then, and it's also expected to have high viewing figures.
While on the subject of our semi final, Severina and Ministarke stated that they are prepared for their rehearsals and their performance on the stage. Severina said that: ''I'm really looking forward to the contest, no matter what result! Me and my girls will make sure that we give it all we got.'' While in  Lviv, she has made great friends with Elena Milenkovska, the Macedonian participant, over their shared love for Sounds of Croatia and North Vision. If you didn't know, Elena could have represented Croatia in #10, but she failed to win the selection.
Croatia is going to perform 5th in the second semi final on 24th November 2014. Not highly tipped as a favourite, they hope for the best. Croatia's result will not affect their participation, as since the HoD change, NVSC has become too/more popular in Croatia.

CROATIA IN NVSC #12: AN OVERVIEWCroatia confirmed it's participation for the 12th edition just yesterday. Thus, this will be the 11th time that  Croatia takes part at NVSC. #11 marked it's 10th participation. HRT has already confirmed that an internal selection is the method of choice for the artist. But that doesn't mean Sounds of Croatia won't return for the future. Frequently asked Q's to HRT (website)Possibilities?People are already making their predictions and wishes in Croatia for who will represent them. However it's too early for us to give you a whole lot of information other than the possibilities regarding type of artist: Female, Male, Group, Girl Group are all possibilities. Pop, ballad, traditional, dance, rock (not hard rock, or metal) are also genres that HRT has in mind. BUT! It doesn't automatically mean that one of these will be chosen, no?  HRT has been looking at suggestions all over Europe. These are taken into thought and could be used in the future editions, but for #12 it's not completely certain if a suggestion will be chosen. More information?If you want more, stay tuned during #11-12. There will be a thread regarding our choice, as this is just HRT news. What languages for the song are possible?Currently, it only seems that  English and Croatian are the two possible languages, unless a Croatian artist has a song in another Slavic or any language. We're open to this. If Croatia fails in #11, will anything change?Of course it wouldn't. We are committed to NVSC, regardless of result; even if we end lower to a PQR extent in any edition, we still take it on. |

HRT exclusive: Viewing figures. Well, NTK of Kazakhstan did it, and we found it interesting, so we decided to show how Croatians take the show, by viewing figures, of course! Ever since the 1st edition, the viewing figures were low. #5 was the significant change, as Croatia qualified for the first time. #6-8 were average. #9 was by far one of the most successful editions on Croatian television, despite Croatia not even taking part. When HRT returned in #10, it produced the highest viewing figure for Croatia ever. Croatians watched both semi finals from time to time, but from #1-4 HRT only showed the semi final Croatia was in and the final. Let's examine: North Vision Song Contest #1 - 150,300 (Semi Final), 97,000 (Final). As you can see, a huge drop from the semi to the final. Primarily because Croatia failed to qualify. However as it was the first North Vision, the Croatians wanted to watch the final. North Vision Song Contest #2 - 89,000 (Semi Final) ( -61,300), 45,670 (Final) ( -51,330). In both shows, the number has decreased significantly. In the semi final, HRT lost 61,300 viewers from North Vision Song Contest #1. In the final, they lost 51,330. Again, because of a bad result from Croatia. Not to mention when the results were revealed, and Croatia came 19th with only 36 points, people were not so happy and didn't want to watch the 3rd edition, it seems.
North Vision Song Contest #3 - 111,567 (Semi Final) (+22,567), 59,150 (Final) (+13,480). A rise occurred. Even if it was rumoured no one in Croatia was interested in NVSC, you can see both figures rose, despite the Croatian failure again.
North Vision Song Contest #4 - 72,560 (Semi Final) (-39,007), 58,920 (Final) (-230). A drop of 39,007 people was seen in the semi final (because they thought the song was not popular enough) and in the final only a drop of 230. In this edition, Croatia only broadcasted the semi final they were in.
North Vision Song Contest #5 - 134,989 (Semi Finals) (+62,429), 499,500 (Final) (+440,580). Croatia has qualified! Didn't you see? A rise of 440,580 people for the final cannot just ''happen'' without a reason. In the semi final, a huge rise of 62,429 meant that they were interested in Croatia's song and qualification. By far, best viewing figure by far.
North Vision Song Contest #6 - 124,444 (Semi Finals) (-10,545), 230,430 (Final) (-269,070). In the semi finals, only lost over 10,000 people. However when Croatia failed, HRT lost 269,000 viewers from last edition. But it shows interest was still there after qualifying in #5.
North Vision Song Contest #7 - 129,871 (Semi Finals) (+5,427), 242,890 (Final) (+12,460). Both shows rose again. Despite another non-qualification, Croatians tuned in to watch Angels perform in SF1. And others watched SF2, but not much. In the final, they watched mostly at the results.
North Vision Song Contest #8 - 99,679 (Semi Finals) (-30,192), 200,000 (Final) (-42,890). Both shows lost again. In the semi final 2, the previous HoD had an incident, and when the Croatians heard that their country would have to withdraw from #9, they didn't want to watch the show. Nevertheless, 200,000 Croatians watched the final.
North Vision Song Contest #9 - 301,400 (Semi Finals) (+201,721), 506,110 (Final) (+306,110). Croatia was out of this edition. But because of it, Croatia tuned into both semi finals gaining the highest viewing figure ever for the semi finals. In the final, a record smashing 506,110 people watched it. This is the first time that the figures broke 500,000. It was a good sign.
North Vision Song Contest #10 - 427,000 (Semi Finals) (+125,600), 950,880 (Final) (+444,770). This was Croatia's return. Obviously, Neda got a good reception beforehand and so the Croatians were confident. For that, 427,000 tuned into the semi finals. However, in the final, 950,880 watched it. The highest was when the results came.
Viewing figures for #11 are not yet published. However, it's expected that over 200,000 Croatians watched the second semi final and over 100,000 watched the 1st semi final. |

Sounds of Croatia will return in #13!Even if it's quite early to announce it, Croatia will be selecting their act through ''Sounds of Croatia'' once more. It was cancelled for the 12th edition, and wasn't going to be considered for a long time, until we found sponsors to fund the next event. HoD of Croatia stated: ''I am happy to announce that our national selection will return with a new format that wasn't used by us for #13. Stay tuned.''There's multiple reasons why it will return. However a huge reason was because of the popularity in Croatia. North Vision has never been this popular in Croatia, and not to mention the fact that two of Croatia's best placings (10th, 6th) were achieved by Sounds of Croatia. This was highly considered relevant and so we made the decision to have the national selection return for the 13th edition of the contest. However, for the first time, there will be no jury applications. This is going to be open to everyone. The 3rd edition of the national selection's location is yet to be determined, but we will host it likely in Northern Croatia this time, perhaps in a province near  Bosnia or  Slovenia. |

Colonia to Sounds of Croatia #3?
A good rumour doesn't go without an explanation. The rumour around Croatia at the moment however is regarding the group ''Colonia'' and their possible participation as one of the 4 artists in Sounds of Croatia #3.
The group have tried to take part in NVSC before, at the last edition of Sounds of Croatia, where they came 3rd (I believe) and the group has been looking for a retry.
The group has released a new single 5 months ago called ''Feniks''. Take a listen below:
