Vicar Street won the award for "Irish Venue Of the Year" in 2008 and 2009. It's limited standing capacity of 1500 has allowed it to become renowned for its "cosiness" attracting such acts as Miranda Sings, Imelda May and Dara Ó Brain.

  SUPPORTING THE IRISHBBC are showing support and care to the RTÉ team in  Dublin, revealing that they fully back the Irish team's application to host the event in Cork.
The British broadcaster has said if Cork is chosen, then the national airline of the  United Kingdom - British Airways - will work in co-operation work with the national airline of Ireland - Aer Lingus. The plan would be to support the European members to travel to Cork via the following plan - using British Airways to fly into London Heathrow International Airport then serving from terminal 5, special charter flights on behalf of Aer Lingus to travel onwards to Cork.  |
