16/01/16: How It'll All Begin

The team are in planning mode now for the GRAND FINAL of our second edition of In It To Win It. But there are few things we can exclusively reveal. We will have show started by a guest performance from international Australian pop legend Miss Kylie Minogue!

We can also tell that after a draw made today at the BBC HQ of all of finalists, the song that has been drawn to perform FIRST is Kerri Watt - You

16/01/16: New Contracts, future plans and a new team member

So as you can see by the above picture, three of our frequent presenters Tess, Fearne and Emma have re-signed their contracts as part of the NVSC UK team. We're proud to also announce that the UK Eurovision host of the national final You Decide Mel Giedroyc was offered a contract and signed with such a surprise after she was approached directly after last night's national final for Eurovision in the UK and the NVSC UK team were impressed with her hosting!

The future of the the UK in NVSC is looking for now to possible have a third edition of In It To Win It on the cards but stripped back to like the first edition with some ten to twelve artists directly competing in a national grand final.

We have had applications for hosting IITWI3 from two cities already:

Liverpool, England

Glasgow, Scotland

18/03/16: Commonwealth Recalling?

Preparations are highly under way for the next edition of the British national selection for NVSC. Already nine artists have been announced to the public with another two potentially on the cards and a rumour is flying around that one other is from one of our fellow Commonwealth Nations. That would make the complete line-up for the contest as 11 British artists + 1 Foreign (Commonwealth) Act. Meaning the return of the policy - the Commonwealth Act of Nations - that the UK can apply for a foreign act from a country that is part of our Commonwealth of Nations. Is it just a rumour or could it be true?

28/04/16: "Is this the end" - for now?

Although we already have our next performer in NVSC 19, there are rumours that after a consistent taking part in all 19 editions so far that the UK could be taking a break in NVSC 20.

It is already also rumoured that if the UK did take part in the next edition, there will be no National Selection due to the money used to host the event in London to find the winner for NVSC 19 - which has cost the BBC a lot of money.

More information will be known about if the UK actually will confirm or not confirm nearer to the time of NVSC 20.

02/10/16: NS CHANGES FOR NVSC 21

The UK NVSC team has decided to make some changes to our national selection - In It To Win It - for the upcoming edition of NVSC.

How will it work?

The artists announced all so far will take place in a SEMI-FINAL.

A jury panel will pre-select one BRITISH artist(s) to go direct to a SUPERFINAL.

The TOP 5 from the SEMI-FINAL go to the SUPERFINAL joining the pre-selected artist(s) to make a line-up of 6 artists.

VOTING

ALL NBU MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATE BROADCASTERS ARE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO VOTE IN THE BRITISH NATIONAL SELECTION.

Semi-Final: Same points system as NVSC. 12, 10, 8 ~ 1.

Superfinal: 0, 0, 6, 8, 10, 12

The artist with the most voted points in the superfinal will be the declared winner and entrant for the United Kingdom at the respective edition.

03/10/16: LAST MINUTE CHANGES AND GOLDEN TICKET ARTISTS REVEALED.

The UK NVSC team has further decided to make some last minute changes to our national selection in the wake of the upcoming edition of NVSC.

How will it work?
TWO GOLDEN TICKETS -
The artists announced to the public are intended to take place in a SEMI-FINAL.

A jury panel will pre-select one of the ANNOUNCED ARTISTS to go direct to the SUPERFINAL.

The jury panel will then pre-select one UNANNOUNCED artist(s) to go direct to the SUPERFINAL.

The TOP 6 from the SEMI-FINAL go to the SUPERFINAL joining the pre-selected artists to make a line-up of 8 artists.

VOTING
