Yeah it is, without the dikes parts of  The Netherlands wouldn't have existed now.  For example my village would've been divided into several little islands... it would've been ridiculous.  I would love to live on a city located on more islands honestly I mean how epic would this be  Well the last time my village could've been divided into several little islands must've been at the last water flooding in  The Netherlands back in 1953. And that looked like this, I think that's less epic.     |

Yeah but that's a flood  A flood can happen basically everywhere (of course countries like The Netherlands are less lucky unfortunately  even if apparently you managed to build a great system for prevention ) But I meant.. a city island.. like New York for example (well these are not really islands but it's surrounded by water and everything is controlled) |

Yeah but that's a flood A flood can happen basically everywhere (of course countries like The Netherlands are less lucky unfortunately even if apparently you managed to build a great system for prevention ) But I meant.. a city island.. like New York for example (well these are not really islands but it's surrounded by water and everything is controlled) If it's controlled in a good way, it's really awesome! But believe me, our government spends millions of euros to keep up the dikes. It costs lots of money and attention to make it all reality. |
