I've been in a good spot often (with my song being liked many times) and yet failed to qualify. It matters on the song. If people love the song you've sent for your country, they will not mind the draw, even if it performs first in the final. You might loose some points because of it, but once you've got points despite your early draw, you can still come quite far. A good song cannot be ruined by a bad draw that much. A bad song however cannot be made better by a good draw. |
