I am 21 years old and I am bisexual I've had sex with 2 men in my life. One of whom I was with for just over 4 years, although when it came to sex with him, he was very rough and abusive and even raped me while I was drunk. But what's done is done now, I guess At least my current boyfriend isn't like that. I've been in relationships with men, but I also find myself sexually and romantically attracted to women. Most of the women I've been attracted to have been quite close friends of mine and I am very often afraid to tell them about my sexuality out of fear that I would lose them as a friend. I very often find it difficult to tell people about it because most of the time, they don't even believe me and tell me "Oh you have a boyfriend. You can't be bi." My family doesn't even know and I'm too scared to tell them because of the fear of being thrown out (they are quite religious) I'll admit, what I shared is very personal, but it feels good to finally be open about it Thanks for telling us this. Well it's really bad what happened to you 4 years ago Sorry for that .. and I hope you're happy with your boyfriend When I came out in front of my friends, nobody, really nobody said anything bad. I was afraid of some male friends, but they don't have any problem with that. One of them hugged me and told me he is proud of me.. which was really nice. And even my really best friend.. who is Croatian and religious and normally he doesn't like gay people (I thought that, because he often made jokes about gays.. ). I told him that and he said "Really mate? Give me a bro-fist". What I want to say: People in our generation are not that bad as many people think. Well at least here in Austria. Till now, I think 50 people know I am gay and I recieved 0 negative comments. Some people say it's luck, I say I have the right friends. I don't know where you are from, but in Western Europe it's no problem being gay or even bi. Bi people are more tolerated (especially women). The thing with your parents .. well if they love you they don't have a problem, if you are not sure about it, hide it as long as you can. And if you are sure, try to talk with your mum when you have a close relation to her, otherwise to your father. Do you have a sister or brother? If yes, tell her/him first. In my case, my sister said she is happy for me (she even cried ). My mother was kinda shocked, but she only needed some days to realise. Ok she asked me from where my love bites are. I told her from my boyfriend. She was like ooooooook wtf. hahahahah. But then she talked with my aunt about that and now both have no problem with that. Here is a selfie for you

I have no problem with you being gay (why would I) It wasn't 4 years ago, I was in a relationship with the guy who was rough and abusive and raped me for 4 years. Sorry for any confusion there, but I'm happy to be out of that relationship now I've only really came out to a few people, including my ex who saw it as an "easy opportunity to have a threesome with two girls as it is every straight man's dream" and that really hurt me because he saw it as a joke (my new boyfriend knows and hes very supportive and understanding). Its not like the people I tell give me negative comments, its either an "Oh OK, but you don't fancy me though right cause I'm straight" or a "Oh you have a boyfriend though so you can't be bi" so I try and hide it from people. I live in the UK, so yeah Western Europe. I think it is just the fact that the friends I have aren't as understanding as I thought as they either take it as a joke, don't believe I'm bi or they just stop talking to me out of fear that I would be attracted to them. I have one sister, who is quite religious, but nowhere near as much as my parents so maybe I could tell her. Thanks for the selfie Here's one for you

if I had to make notes Okay. All was taken from Wikipedia. I do not study sexology, but I am interested. Just curious, why did you cross out "Gender" and "Gender role"?
