what if they actually win? should they host it next year? "What if Australia wins? Would the contest take place down under? No. In case Australia wins, SBS will co-host the Eurovision Song Contest in a European city, together with an EBU Member Broadcaster. Their participation is intended as a one-off, but in case of a victory, Australia will be allowed send a participant to the Eurovision Song Contest next year." www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=australia_to_participate_in_the_2015_eurovision_song_contest

I'm sure the United Kingdom would host the contest in 2016 if Australia would win this year.

I still think EBU should focus on bringing back European countries rather than inviting Australia, then New Zealand, then Tuvalu... I can genuinely assure you New Zealand will not be entering the contest anytime soon. Eurovision is non-existent in this country, and I only stumbled upon it by accident. If they win (which I seriously doubt, San Marino has a better chance) they'll stay for good. The EBU would not force a nation that recently won out of the contest, no matter how far it is from Europe. After a little research, Australia will most likely give points to these countries: United Kingdom (historical ties and Commonwealth buddies + diaspora), Germany, Italy, Greece and Ireland (diaspora). And to all those who are complaining, you could also say Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Israel and Morocco should never compete because they aren't in Europe. Although they are closer to Europe, if you want to put up the argument 'Europe only' and you are a fan of the listed countries above, your argument is invalid. Also, something sadly tells me they may suffer the same fate as Russia 2014. They may be booed on and off the stage (this should never have happened to Russia either),
