I don't think China will participate next year.. The only out-of Europe country I see participating is Australia, presuming that they win tomorrow, which you never know. I read that article too that was posted above.

I haven't seen any articles but I also don't see China participating tbh. I know that sounds harsh but I definitely don't want Australia participating every year either.

OMG - The Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) has confirmed its interest in participating after being invited as a one-time guest to compete at the 2015 Contest. Jon Ola Sand and the EBU stated in February 2015 that Australia can only return if they win the 2015 Contest and choose to jointly host the 2016 Contest with a European country.[2][13][14] It was revealed in May 2015 that Australia might become a permanent participant following some reports by Jon Ola to the Swedish broadcaster.[15] To the Swedish broadcaster? Hmmm does that mean anything?

I wouldn't mind seeing Australia permanently and even China joining, but I can already see the complains of some people However, as I already posted in the General 2015 discussion: according to the german Wikipedia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Morocco and Tunisia sent observers to the ESC this year, so maybe they have interest in debuting or returning but I don't think that this will happen for because of Israel and isn't 100% recognised and there'll be complains from Serbia, so I can only imagine to see joining in the next years

New Zealand should join long before China ever does Just like Australia, we have a large European population of almost 70%, and that's not counting those of mixed heritage Welcome us to the contest pls, China has no cultural ties to Europe unlike Australia....

CONFIRMS Translation of the article made by me: " AVROTROS in 2016 going on at the same noteEenVandaag Dutch news channel, "One Today" reported AVROTROS will select the artist for the 2016 Song Contest internally again. A spokesperson of the AVROTROS said: "we think it's a pity people in our country think negatively again about the Eurovision Song Contest when we don't reach the final once. It is of course a competition and losing it is also a part of it." EenVandaag had a meeting with a part of the delegation which is still in Vienna and those told the broadcaster is going to do the selection process in the same way again: getting in contact with a good artist and that artist sending to the Eurovision Song Contest with a good song. So this means no national selections or Nationaal Songfestival."
