Scotland isn't a dependent state it's part of the UK....... lmao I'm sure she just wants to offend  Scottish people. I disagree with her taking Scotland as well by the way, Scotland doesn't deserve her in this contest. It's not offending it's just common knowledge. Do they know what a dependent state is?  |

In a way,  Scotland acts as a dependent territory, but honestly, it really isn't. We don't depend on the  United Kingdom so much because half of our powers are already devolved, and we certainly, CERTAINLY aren't a territory. England, Northern Ireland and Wales are also all countries, but it's more of a unity agreement rather than "let's make a country 4u and me" Generally, Scotland should be classified as a country like no other, but we're not an independent nation/state as of yet. There should only be 12 eligible DTs for the whole of the UK overall: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependent_territory#United_Kingdom |

You should really call this Autonomous Republics Song Contest then  Scotland isn't a dependency, and it's a country in it's own right but in the United Kingdom. Like Callum said, I'm sure Scotland doesn't rely so much on the UK like for example  Gibraltar does. And seeing some of these, it's not really "dependencies" but rather regions or autonomous provinces. I don't condemn Laurinda, of course not! But just saying that some of these are not dependencies en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dependent_territoryAnd if you want a clearer example,  Corsica is not a dependency but rather a province of  France.
