Finished watching the show a little over 20 minutes ago, and I was very surprised by the outcome....... I was expecting the Czech Republic to qualify, and the fact that they delivered a pitch perfect performance made me think it was inevitable. What a shock  We'll probably not see them again for a very long time along with  Macedonia and  Albania because their belief in Elhaida's victory will go down the drain. Same thing for Malta, I hated the song before the semi final but after watching the song, I thought it was a winning performance and although it isn't the best this year, was a serious contender for a Top 10 placing. They didn't even qualify Shock for Iceland too. She seemed off key but I was expecting them to qualify anyway. Cyprus and Montenegro, both in my Bottom 10 in my ESC top, were really big surprises that I didn't see coming. Terrible qualifiers. I also thought Switzerland had a good performance, didn't expect them to qualify in the first place but my dad thought it was a good song. When I watched Poland's performance, it nearly brought me to tears because it was so beautiful. I never cry, so something like that to happen to me meant something special. Beautiful. I didn't think Israel wouldn't qualify not because it wasn't good enough, but the fact that two hot favourites they sent before crashed in the SFs. If San Marino thought they were qualifying, then they were out of their minds. |

So, I would like to my opinion about the 10 qualifiers as well :  Lithuania was a rather expected qualifier... They usually qualify anyway (especially this time with Latvia and Ireland in their semi,it was more than jsut expected) and even if I placed it really high in my ranking, I shall admit that it didn't really stand out last night... Montenegro weren't my fave act of the night and the song wasn't that good... But what a disappointment it would be, keeping Zeljko out of the final... Anyways, a very good perfromance live, guess the juries supported it a lot!  Norway was very good, deserved and expected qualifier. Israel was obviously ideal for such a semi with so many ballads... One of the worst vocals however... Still I really like the song and I'm glad it qualified because I wanted to see it through  Latvia is rising in my ranking (not that it was low actually) and I found Aminata's performance stunning... I guess we'll see it on the left side of the scoreboard tomorrow !  Azerbaijan sending the same typical formula of a ballad written by a  Swedish composer etc. Yes, once again they didn't give us anything original but it was obvious they'd qualify and the song is certainly good... A bit disappointed with Elnur's vocals, as a winner of The Voice I'd personally expect more... Sweden is currently one of the biggest faves for the victory (it's always been actually) and although I like the song, hsi vocals were not so good at some part but this is surely not going to prevent him from winning if the fans love the song... I wouldn't like to see them winning though because they tend to do really well in the contest and I guess it's time for someone else to win... Cyprus, my beloved homeland! I felt so excited during the postcard as my city, Limassol was shown and I could recognize all those places that were shown! Well, I don't get the hate against our entry... I personally find it beautiful and John is very good and stable vocally... I obviously don't expect much in the final but I don't get why people keep hating on us for qualifying instead of others... We've qualified again after 3 years, we hardly ever make it, most other countries are more successful than us.. So why should we keep being unsuccessful? Just so that the others keep doing well? Don't really get that logic...   Slovenia is one of the songs I really like because it's a typical radio-friendly entry... A bit disappointed with their performance, I find it a bit too simple and that "violinist" gets on my nerves  A worthy qualifier song-wise though  Monika is beautiful and she gave all her strength in that song! Good vocals (a bit not so good at some parts but in general it was fine) and a really nice performance. She gave her soul and seemed to believe in her lyrics Glad for them |

Dutch commentary was really bitchy about San Marino. "Last year they made the final for the first time, with the third participation of Valentina Monetta, but luckily that's over. Apparently they found two other singers in the m-word state." "As the last few years, Ralph Siegel wrote the song, it's a sugarsweet ballad with sugarsweet off-key voices" After the performance "Well, I'm sure they had great motives, but this was gutwrenchingly bad" Imo, it wasn't that bad, only Anita was regularly off-key, Michele sang quite nice. Still deserved non-qualifier |

After Czech Republics performance they rose 3rd in my top.. But they didn't make it through to the final (cry) (cry) (cry) I hope that  won't withdraw even though it's almost a matter of course that they will but still! I wanted  , and  to the final as well. Luckily we will see  ,  and  ( <333 ) there.  So after all the results isn't totally catastrophic but I'll always cry due to Czech..  was so big surprise, even bigger than  in first semi   sends always boring songs and will always qualify.  Never liked their entries tbh. |
