After a long time of waiting and suggesting plenty of interesting ideas (thank you for your time and dedication), the moment has finally come! We have considered every single suggestion of every single player and we present you the 8 ideas that we, the WWW Song Contest Admins, think would be the most interesting for our Special 50th Edition! Please vote for up to 3 themes and if you want to, you can also add your comments in the space provided at the bottom of the poll. Here is a small explanation of each of the themes:
1. “Other players decide the artist for you – you decide the song”: Each player will be given a participating country. They will have to choose an artist from this country and then the player of the country will have to submit a song performed by that artist (as a solo artist or as part of a duet/band). 2. “Brand new songs (released from August 2016 on)”: Players will only have to submit brand new songs that were released in August 2016 earliest. 3. “Troll Edition (Funny/Joke songs)”: Only funny songs will be accepted. In case a song doesn’t sound as a funny entry to us, the player will have to provide us with a suitable and convincing reason for submitting it. 4. “Sending a song based on one of our 49 winners (decided by draw)”: A winner will be given to each player. Then, the entry submitted should be somehow relevant to that winner. For instance, it could be something inspired from the title or a line from the lyrics of the song, a song of the same language or with the same title, a duet with the winning artist, a song performed by a band in case it’s a band that had won etc. (As the number of players exceeds 49, some winning entries will be used more than once). 5. “Ethnic/Traditional songs/Songs about your country”: The entry could include ethnic/traditional sounds or it could be a song talking about the country you represent. Songs performed in a national dialect or in a minority language of the country are also accepted. 6. “Casting show winners/participants”: The artist should be a contestant of a previous/current series of a casting show (his/her result in the show shall not count). 7. “Live edition (only live performed songs)”: The audio provided should be part of a live performance (e.g. a performance taken from a concert). 8. “Songs from 2011 (1st year of the contest)”: The submitted entries should have a release date between the 1st of January and the 31st of December of 2011, as that was the year that the WWW Song Contest began. Wondering where you will find the poll? The link will be shortly sent to you as a Personal Message. The reason is that we don't want anyone else, apart from people who are currently taking part or who might wish to return to vote for the theme of the edition, in which they will or might submit an entry. What do you think? Let us hear from you! We hope you share the same excitement as we do!

Also the submission time should be a bit longer than usually. 4 instead of 3 days? Depends on which theme is chosen!

Would love to see participants choosing original, not-overused singers , thus we can have a great edition with the first theme. 2) This will be extremely hard for me. I guess I am not an exception 3) Sorry, but to my mind, this is the worst theme given for the 50th edition. Many of us will face difficulties while voting and listening to the songs . 4) This one is a good theme , as well. It is great to try different songs - for instance, we have rock songs, pop songs, songs in native languages etc. as winners, so diversification can easily be seen 5)To my certain knowledge, this is the best theme shown here. I would love to encounter the traditions and culture of these countries by listening to such songs. 6) This one gets NO from me 7) This idea sounds very nice, however, occurrence of problems for some countries is indispensable. 8) It is nice to have an idea to congratulate our anniversary, nevertheless, I am against the themes standing for the idea of sending songs from a certain year.

A random irrelevant non-participant opinion: 1. “Other players decide the artist for you – you decide the song”: Each player will be given a participating country. They will have to choose an artist from this country and then the player of the country will have to submit a song performed by that artist (as a solo artist or as part of a duet/band). Sounds like the best idea. 2. “Brand new songs (released from August 2016 on)”: Players will only have to submit brand new songs that were released in August 2016 earliest. Well it's nothing special imo, but at least some people won't send old songs as most of them... coff Montenegro coff 3. “Troll Edition (Funny/Joke songs)”: Only funny songs will be accepted. In case a song doesn’t sound as a funny entry to us, the player will have to provide us with a suitable and convincing reason for submitting it. Why not. I don't know what to think about this one as well. 5. “Ethnic/Traditional songs/Songs about your country”: The entry could include ethnic/traditional sounds or it could be a song talking about the country you represent. Songs performed in a national dialect or in a minority language of the country are also accepted. Meh 6. NO. just NO.

Now that I think about the themes, I believe the first one is actually really damn dangerous. Not that it's a bad theme, it isn't in my eyes, but I can just see some people being really disappointed with their selected artist. When it comes to Sweden, I have one of the largest music industries out of the competing countries atm, and I am actually really scared of what people would be willing to give me (as said before, I DO NOT want any popular international swedish singer to represent Sweden), and as I know it so far, I might not be able to withdraw once I confirm for that edition. It could also be dangerous, because people might actually go on a troll mode and give that country a really bad artist, or just a artist with one song, which actually FORCES the player to select that artist. Just how I see how that them might go, but that's just speculations, but I still feel like dangerous play could be played with that theme

What will people suggest me? Maraaya, Maja? I'm pretty sure around 10-20% of people would actually spend deserved time for the research. Not to mention some countries (if not most) are very hard.

In case the first theme wins we might adapt it a bit to your concerns

^ Exactly what Florian said. We have already thought of adapting the theme, in case it wins. As for what Jasna said, we will make sure everyone can actually make a good research before suggesting someone, so even difficult countries shouldn't matter
