A non-participant comment: (sorry for the disturbance if there is any) I am an Azerbaijani player competing in WWWSC/Retro WWWSC, and wanted to find out whether Röya, who sings "Lie" has Azerbaijani roots. This is what I found in the YouTube comment section: Turns out there is actually someone who believes that she is really from Decoria Thought I had to share this with FSC community. 1) Roya and Röya are different the one with ö is Azerbaijani and she doesn’t have English songs. 2) how dumb can people be to not know that Decoria doesn’t exist irl 1) They are actually still the same. I recall reading somewhere that Roya has Persian origins, and the name Röya (the name of Azerbaijani singer) also comes from Persian language. When you put Azerbaijani and Persian names into writing in English, you choose the form which corresponds to the exact or the closest possible pronounciation in these languages. For instance, my name is actually Nicat, but since it would sound very differently in English, it is written as Nijat in English, but these two are still the same names. This is why many of us have 2 names in our passports. (Hope I was clear) 2) I completely agree. But to be honest, I am not really surprised at that anymore.

Went to a concert by Tanya Tagaq earlier tonight (shoutout to Niklas). She happened to be in my city today, and the concert was free (most likely funded by the local college's Native American group). It lasted about an hour and a half, but it was still a great experience. After she introduced herself, she told us it was her daughter's birthday, so she asked everybody in the audience to sing Happy Birthday to her daughter via FaceTime. It was so cute. She's a very soft-spoken woman when she talks. When she performs though, she becomes a totally different being. As for the performance itself, she said it was all going to be improv. I got to hear her style of singing and see her performance mannerisms in person. I was disappointed I didn't get to hear Retribution live, but she was still a fascinating performer overall. She, at one point, literally crawled up to the front row while doing her intense throat singing + body movements. She got to hold a couple audience members' hands. I was jealous. Right at the start, she specifically asked not to film/photograph her performance, but I did get a picture of her at the very beginning, right after she took off her heels. She wore a really sparkly dress, which I didn't expect, but the way the lighting reflected off her dress made the whole performance visually mesmerizing. And that was my Friday night!
