1.1 @sniegurackas starts a new contest - which ends in a flop

It happened once again: @sniegurackas caused controversy, discussions and bad moods. The scandalous Lithuanian guy is mostly known for insulting several contest and their players. He also added some controversy to his life, when he rejected to vote in SVSC because he loved more than 10 songs. After he became the new HoD of South Africa, many players, including the ones who were insulted by him, protested which lead into him overthinking about his behaviour and apologising. This is a step towards but sadly he thought that a simple "Sorry" is enough to forgive everything, which was disapproved by the other members.
At 1st he opened a senseless thread called "Julian" at the FoM board, which was supposed to tell le moi to unban him. I rejected it.
This wasn't enough controversy for him, so he decided to open the "Group Song Contest". All in all there were 0 interested players. What a surprise.

1.2 2 Bitch fights which stopped in the last second before escalating

This week has clearly been amazing for eating popcorn. For only a short time tho, all fights didn't escalate so the popcorn-eaters still have something left for the following weeks (and for the reactions to the flop award lol).
The 1st fight was when ESCIliasMANL (Inactive) posted a recent cover of the Charlie Hebdo magazine which became known after the disgusting attacks at the beginning of this year. Ilias decided to insult everybody who disagreed with his opinion. However, the redaction has to mention, that his opinion wasn't stupid, he had a good point. Gladly the fight didn't escalate.
The 2nd close-to-escalate-fight is more recent, it happened when the PQR Host poll results were published for NVSC #16. @garameaning stated his support towards Macedonia, the winner of the poll, as they were able to make a recap by themselves. This statement was misunderstood by James who aggressively replied on Dennis' post. Several people wanted the thread to be locked, however, Dennis stayed calm and solved the situation by clearing the misunderstanding. James apologised afterwards, after bringing the conflict close to the escalation. Dennis deserves credit for ending it before it exploded.

1.3 Revival of old games didn't continue

At the beginning of this week, some old games were revived for a short time. "Cards against Humanity" and "Guess the forum member" were popular months ago but then got easily forgotten. While several members played CaH for the 1st time since months, "Guess the forum member" didn't get huge interest. In the end, both weren't completely revived and probably won't either in the future.

2.1 4 countries published their song

The NVSC #16 is about to start and this week announced their song. Not many are left, as the deadline is today. While Ukraine hosted a national selection, Malta, Italy and Luxembourg selected their songs internally. Especially Italy got positive responses, their song "Roma - Bangkok" has good chances to became the fan-favourite and maybe even the winner. Not many people would disagree with Rome #17 or Milano #17 tho.

2.2 Semi Final Allocation Draw took place

On Monday, 14th September, all HoDs (well, some of them) came together on Tinychat and celebrated the Semi Final Allocation Draw. 20 will take part in each semi final, 2 PQR qualifiers will join SF1 while 3 PQR qualifiers will take part in SF2. Each semi has 3 addional voters, the AQed countries.
The majority stated, that the 2nd semi final is going to be really hard, as favourites like United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Spain take part there. But the 1st semi final has also some popular songs, especially Kazakhstan received much love. Well, we will see how it turns out next month.

2.3 Sneak Peeks started

It's THAT time again: Sneak Peeks. Since Sunday, each few days some songs get presented. Every fan can rank those songs and those rankings make out the Betting Odds. The lower your average rank is, the higher you'll be in the BO. But wait: the BO. Are often not really accurate. Just remember Kokoro in NVSC #12. Or also the flop of Edis in NVSC #13. Your place in the odds doesn't directly give you your final placing. But still, the countries which are higher in the odds normally qualify more often than the lower countries.
At the moment, United Kingdom will win the contest according to the BO, while Belarus will be last (in the semi). It's not too unlikely that the betting odds don't go in the right direction looking at those countries, but nothing is sure yet.
3 of 7 SPs have been published yet, so we can still await the changes during the next week.

2.4 Skopje to host the PQR

FINALLY ! After 3 attempts ! No I'm not talking about a Melodifestivalen participant, I'm talking about Macedonia and Matt who finally managed to win the right to host the PQR. The country got 29 votes for their amazing design, just in front of Lithuania placing 2nd and Italy placing 3rd.
9 countries will take part in the PQR, but only 5 of them will qualify to the semi finals. The PQR starts soon, so be ready to vote there !

Glasperlenspiel take part in his NS with their song "Geiles Leben". In the page it was translated as "Horny Life" but it's actually "Awesome Life". Quite a difference between "Horny" and "Awesome". Never trust Google Translate guys !
