Official Slovakian Announcement!Slovakia is officially internally selecting their entry for NVSC #17 because the HoD believes that the Slovakian music industry isn't big enough to have national selections. Many artists have applied to represent their country in Europes favourite song contest. The broadcaster will not announce the artists names apart from one name. Mista has applied with a male singer, a female singer, a male group and a rock band. The artist will be announced a week after this edition. I'm basically going to listen to the songs until my ears bleed because I really don't know what to send  |

 CROATIA CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION
After a week of waiting, North Vision fans would be glad to know that  Croatia confirms it's participation at the 17th edition, thus making it's 16th appearance at the contest.
HRT were awaiting the results of the semi final to actually make a decision. After the results were released, the HoD said: "After the results and high viewing figures tonight, we can certainly confirm that Croatia will participate in the 17th edition. Our budget was finalised and we have a selection format set!"
HRT confirmed that a national selection would indeed take place - but this time it'll be downsized to 5 songs, and that all countries can vote in the selection, thus meaning no juries or televoting will play a part in this selection.
The first act will be known during the week. All songs will most likely be in Croatian, but that being said, not everything is certain yet.

 RTE can confirm Ireland will be in the 17th edition of the North Vision Song Contest On the 6th and 9th of October a conference with the head of musical programming and others whom NVSC concerned to discuss whether to take part and furthermore what is the best way to proceed with the edition to ensure maximum viewer-ship and the best possible result for the future contestant. Early Rumours:Some Irish Northfans have questioned whether the recently announced news that RTE was planning to completely re-structure of how the departments and broadcasters run in an attempt to be more cost effective, would likely to affect how much time the broadcaster has to arrange NVSC-based matters. The confirmation of participation removed rumours of withdrawal because of this, and has replaced them with rumours of an internal selection.
The Irish Times ran an article with an unnamed past employee of RTE (apparently resentful over being made redundant in the restructure) that a previous member of a successful girl band had contacted the broadcaster showing interest. The article then went on to speculate Una Healy - current member of successful British-Irish girl group the Saturdays - to be using the contest to launch a solo career. |

The national broadcaster of Switzerland SRG SSR confirms their participation The HoD of Switzerland Christian Wohlmuth announced today afternoon that Switzerland returns "for sure" to the 17th edition of NVSC. It was also announced that something awesome happens aswell. It's the first time in Swiss history that a song is sung in three languages!

LONDON - the BBC can confirm that the United Kingdom will compete in NVSC 17.
The artist will be selected with the return of our national selection Battle for Britain 9 which will take place on the island of Jersey, a member of the channel islands.

Greece returns to North Vision Song Contest,after its previous withdrawal.A decision has been taken before the actual date,as you see.It has been confirmed that NorthSong will held. Although,a lot of facts has been changed since NVSC#15. First ChangeFrom NVSC#17, George J. will be my Co-Hod.
