ICELAND WILL PARTICIPATE IN #31

RÚV confirmed today that

Iceland would continue participating in the contest citing the high interest rates and being one of the most watched shows for various age-groups.

Dýri Brjáns, HoD of

Iceland, while in

Tórshavn stated:

"IMF is a must for Iceland. It's a huge contest where we can show our music industry to the rest of Europe. Our viewers have been taking the contest positively, despite not being in the final since #27. Now it's up to Sigga to bring us back to the final for the first time since then. Nevertheless, regardless - we want to continue our streak of participation."

Iceland has never withdrawn from IMF before, and looks like it won't in the future.

However the entry will be selected internally. RÚV announced that it wouldn't change it's mind this time for a national selection, due to slight financial trouble.
Stay tuned for more on the artist and song selected in November/December.

Latvia confirms !

Two days after the qualification of Animata in the Grand Final of IMF #30,

Latvia proudly confirms their presence in

IMF #31, despite the rumors of withdrawing, due to a very low budget accorded to IMF.

For these reasons, the artist and song will be selected, once again, internally.
But it was confirmed that for the first time since IMF #24, that the song will be sung in Latvian !

Update on Andorra

Andorra has selected its group that will represent them in the thirty-first edition of the International Music Festival.

The group bares a strikingly similar resemblance to Narsilion (gothic folk ( sorry mainstream pop fans (kiss)

)), and hopes to qualify with a slightly more upbeat yet dramatic entry. The group has been active since 2004 with their first album Fairydust, and continue to play an influential role in the gothic community of Spain to this day.
