 Italian entry to be announced at 12:30CET tomorrow. I'll update all these details then  . (This never happened in the history of Sanremo I think, except 2012 in a way) |

There is a difference between  2015 and  2016. San Remo is not purely a Eurovision NS. It is a music competition in which part of the price is that you get the right to represent Italy at ESC. So artists signing up for San Remo might not be doing that for Eurovision, but for the fame of winning a prestigious competition in Italy. This means there is always a larger chance than in any normal NS that the winner will choose not to take his place at Eurovision. |

Guys, it seems official that Stadio refused the right to represent  and that Rai choose instead Francesca Michielin (however it's not still sure if the song will be "Nessun Grado Di Separazione" - the song Francesca competed in Sanremo 2016 with) |
