I have the same problem with you  but I decided to not open the computer when I'm doing my homework,and when the night comes,I can manage my contest.Now it takes me no longer than 45 minutes to make the video because in my laptop it was taking 3 hours to make a video  so I'm OK  Let's see... |

Maybe you could just make each (semi) final last longer? For example; start each semi final on a Sunday, everyone can vote throughout the week and then you can reveal the results on the Saturday. Then you'd have time for school as well as the contest |
