Apparently NTU changed the new preliminary dates to 9th, 11th and 13th May without consulting with the EBU, who found a problem with these new dates. According to UEFA's schedule, on 9th May the second leg of the UEFA Champions league SF1 is scheduled, and on 11th May second legs of both SFs of Europa League are scheduled. Since both Champions League and Europa League bring much more money to EBU than Eurovision, EBU wants to move the ESC2017 dates on 23rd, 25th and 27th May. |

"The choice of the host city is probably a key decision of the whole Eurovision. This verdict is too important and too crucial to take it in a rush. That's why, it was a joint ruling of the European Broadcasting Union, organisational committee, and NTU to take more time. We have this time, we have the right to take it in order to receive additional information, additionally fulfilled tasks from the cities, work on it and come up with 100 percent right decision."
