Review:
This semi was a mix of everything.
Honestly, I was excited for just my top 3, and tbh they all delivered in my opinion.
"Crucified" was obviously inspired by First Aid Kit here, and I've always loved the passion that First Aid Kid has put into making their country songs.
This one is just lovely, and their voices are just perfect together. Surprising that this is coming from a 16 and a 17 year old
Krista Siegfrids finally took her time to actually make a good song this time. "Faller" was just ok for me, but it was a obvious non qualifier.
"Snurra min jord" is a huge improvement. It's something I never expected from Krista, and it's just perfect for her. I still love her swedish, and I hope Sweden gives more sympathy for her this time.
I had high hopes in Jasmine Kara, and tbh I have no idea what to expect from her. Just from that rehearsal snippet, I really can't judge this song THAT much.
The only reason I am placing her this high is because I still adore her voice, and because that that snippet has given me enough info for me to love it more than the other four.
I am just hoping that drop is e p i c.
Am I even allowed to talk about Owe Thörnqvist here? I have no idea what I expected from this man, lol.
After reading the lyrics, I was confident that I would dislike this song, but after hearing the song, the only thing I can do is laugh. This is OUTDATED AF, but he makes it a funny "comedy" act (If I can even call it that).
I hate to say that this is a guilty pleasure. I am sure this isn't gonna reach the top 4 in any way, but I am just happy to see this just in the middle of the show. Christer you fuken troll.
Anton Hagman, coming from where I love, is kinda meh overall tbh. The song has "Shawn Mendes" vibes, and I never liked any of his songs.
He should ditch the guitar if he wants any attention, as it gives nothing to the performance. If anything, some dancers would fit better. A choreography, damnit.
I didn't have much expectations of Robin Bengtsson after hearing "Stevie Wonder". This song is at least a small improvement from that song, but "Constellation Prize" still stays a much better entry than this.
The chorus is boring, unoriginal, and barely any catchy thanks to the lyrics. I find his voice weak in this song as well. I can see why people love this, but in all honesty, this isn't much of a deserved finalist for me.
FO&O...
After Christer placed them 7th, I thought there was something in there after all.
After hearing the rehearsal, on the other hand, my thoughts was a mistake. And no, they did not improve.
This is just the typical boyband song. Nothing impressive in this at all.
It's unoriginal, it's cheap, it's horribly written. I mean, this honestly has the word "NOTHING" imprinted on it.
"NOTHING" as in; nothing special, nothing original, nothing impressive, nothing even remotely worked on to begin with.
It's sad to actually see this as a direct finalist, just because of the fangirls. A wasted finalist spot. You're lucky this time, Lisa.
Whelp, my bottom 2 is most likely gonna enter the Grand Final. I just hope to see Bella & Filippa, Krista and/or Jasmine Kara in the second chance (or if a miracle happens, and one of them becomes the dark horse).
I'll be missing this semi final this saturday, but I still hope for an amazing show o/
