Switzerland has confirmed participating in Eurovision 2017. This is the respective thread for it. Just like last year my question: Who would you want to see in Eurovision?

Who I want to see always depends on the song, in general Id like to see Sophie Hunger, and also think that Nickless could score quite good.

There is big problem with format of NF. If change helped in Latvia it can help here too but i don't think they will change something even they were last twice in a row.

Sophie Hunger would be amazing, but not sure if she could do well because her style is totally different. Not sure about Nickless - I mean Waiting was amazing, but I guess he'll stay One-hit-wonder.

Yeah, Nickless depends on what a kind of song he sends to the NS, if he even applies of course. But I can imagine him getting many votes because of his look. We'll see!

Well that would be interesting indeed.

Change in the selection progress
Short overview about how the progress will be: Once again the Swiss entry will be chosen in a national selection. The submission time starts is from 26 September until 24 October 8:00 (= approximately a month). The songs will be again uploaded on a website, but aren't available publicly anymore. Afterwards 20 songs will be presented in a live check on 4 December. The best ones from there will then qualify to the final which will take place on the 5 February in Zurich. The winner will be decided fully by the televoting.
It seems that the amount of entries in both the live check and the final is still to be decided because the page on srf.ch mentions it as approximately 20 for the first one and the second one is mentioned as 6-10 for now.
The most important changes: 1. The submitted songs aren't available anymore. 2. Since 2011 there has always been that rule with the percentages of every language part. That one has been removed for next year. 3. Until now everyone was able to submit a song. From now on artist, composer or lyricist (I haven't found out if it's all or just one of them) needs to have either a Swiss citizenship or living in Switzerland. That means there won't be songs anymore by random people from any country.
