The two best teams of the tournament faced each other today, so imo this would have been a very worthy final Happy for France, not only because I predicted them to win lol, but also because they've had some rather bad years with their national team, now they have a really good and talented squad again, so they deserve to get something back. Also I find it nice to see the home team come far in their own country ^^ I would say the victory wasn't undeserved, of course they were a bit lucky, as the penalty in the 46th/47th minute came out of nowhere and got them a big psychological advantage. But they also had some more good chances in the 2nd half, where Griezmann, Payet or Giroud could have scored and made it 2:0 or 3:0 later on. Germany was dominant, had much more ball possession but they just weren't effective tonight. They played well though, can't really be blamed. Just this unnecessary penalty and the mistakes before the 2nd goal were too much in the end I assume France will win now, they're in much better shape than Portugal I think, but of course you never know with Portugal's luck

I wouldn't say "luck", but it was two individual mistakes. I was really impressed by France's first 15 minutes. Then Germany dominated the rest of the first half, which ended with a handball in extra time. So unnecessary... Just like Boateng against Italy. Guys, keep your hands down, you're beating yourself =/ And then in the second half France could afford playing defensively, Germany completely owned the second half, but an individual mistake introduced France's second goal =/ It was a really strong game, so I'm not even mad at anyone. It was the first "regular" goal (penalties excluded) that was scored against us. So, well done, France! Now go and destroy Portugal! I will agree with you about 2 individual mistakes (even though that handball was a 50/50 situation), but referee was obviously on France's side as well, because Draxler alone was fouled/pushed off the ball about 2-3 times right next to the penalty area, but nothing followed... and there were many situations like that when ref just decided to ignore fouls against germans, while whistled almost every german "touch" to french player... just look at the amount of yellow cards and it will prove you this... Yep, Germany did 6 fouls and got 4 yellow cards for it That was quite extreme^^ I didn't understand why UEFA chose an Italian referee right after Germany just kicked Italy out of the competition... He was not really consistent about his decisions, but he was okay. I've seen worse. Of course the game would have been different if he had given penalty/-ies for Germany, but well... I feel uncomfortable blaming the referee, when they had enough chances to win it by themselves. It was just a really unlucky game for us and then we also lost Boateng after we've already lost Khedira and Gomez (and Gündogan and Reus and Rüdiger). It was not our year, maybe 2018

It was not our year, maybe 2018 I agree that Germany wasn't even close to the best squad, especially in this game... If germans will have all their best players in 2018, no one's gonna stop them just like in 2014... In this tournament Germany missed the most a crucial striker like Klose was in his best days. Gomez is good, but still not even close to Klose. Maybe Gundogan's miss wasn't as important and decisive (because germans have very good midfield), but Reus was a big loss, because he's one of the best wingers in the world and with his skills would make any defence think twice, how to stop him... this year german wings were not dangerous at all, except for Draxler, which played quite dangerous (for defence) only in last 2 games... To trust LB/RB (Kimmich, Hector) with winger play, where you need skillers, isn't the smartest move, if you want to achieve something, especially if they are playing their first high level tournament. I'm hoping to see the real Germany again in 2018

FINAL Portugal - France The system of points is still the same: 3 points if you predict the right winner 5 points if you predict the right goal difference 7 points if you predict the exact result
If there are extensions, only the final score will matter. You just have to specify the winner if you predict a win on penalties.
Send your prediction to me by PM ! Deadline : 10 July 2016 at 20:59 CET Predictions sent after the deadline will (obviously) not be accepted.

As there won't be any special points for the final I'm 28th in the end.

Yep, Germany did 6 fouls and got 4 yellow cards for it Does that mean you're happy with that? No, I was laughing that almost every German foul immediately led to a yellow card for the Germans. Normally you get a warning or something. Germany isn't exactly known for being a brutal aggressive team.
