In this edition, we're going to do something a bit different: This past sunday, one of the biggest songwriters and singers from Mexico died at the age of 66. His career was still on-going, this year he even released two brand new albums, last friday he still gave a concert (he was on tour). He also was my mom's favorite artist of all time and I grew up listening to his songs, even to this day. So for this edition, Mexico would like to make a little tribute to him by sending one of his most iconic songs to this contest. The song representing us for this 20th edition is: Juan Gabriel - Amor Eterno Timeslot: 1:53-2:17 (very hard to choose) He originally wrote this song in 1974 when his mom died. Then in 1984 he gave this song to Rocío Durcal, one beloved Spanish singer, when her daughter died. Later he finally recorded it by his own. The song is about how sad he is about her death, blaming he could have done more for her. Still, in the chorus, he knows he will reunite with her some day. This is how the chorus translates into English: How much I'd want you lived, That your little eyes would have never closed, so I could be watching them.
Eternal love, and unforgettable. Sooner or later I'll be with you So I can keep...loving you.As you can see, this is a very meaningful song for me, specially during these days. I really won't care about the result I get, just the fact of sending it is enough for me. Sorry if the post got a bit long Greetings!

I know it is slightly late but the next special edition could be an edition for only deceased artists. An "In a loving memory of" edition perhaps?

I actually got the same idea when I got the news of that singer passing, but yeah, it's too late for now. You can dedicate entries in any edition But yeah, it will be considered in the future special edition as I want to avoid year based ones.
