That's why I hate QF's and I never understood people who send their strongest entries ever there ... So that they can qualify?

So that they can qualify? i find it stupid to send meh/average songs in SF but send strong entries in a QF where only 2 entries qualify. Send something meh-ish so even if you fail you know you didn't waste a great song which had potential to do well in a semi-final/final. But if you qualify from QF then fail in semi like come on it's not a big deal at all.. especially when results of QF can be totally weird. Most of time the quality of QF songs is much better than the SF because almost every amazing entry fails in QF

So I didn't send this song for the quarter final because I wanted a strong song but it was kind of a coincidence

I honestly don't understand why you'd want to deliberately send a weak entry for a QF.

I honestly don't understand why you'd want to deliberately send a weak entry for a QF. then it's better to fail with a good song which has potential just because there are too many such entries in the QF and all can't qualify..

No, but the QF is a test - If your song really is good, then it would qualify. San Marino sent their best IMF song since #21, and didn't make it to the semis, so apparently - the song was not good enough.

I highly doubt that.
