Tbh what Domas says have a point.. It's unfortunate for the player to lose his country for his co HoD's mistake.. :/ I disagree... He could've still have sent his votes without the Co-HoD As a HoD your task is to know when the deadline is, and make sure you submit votes by then

Fucking hell, those "Prioritise-Real-Life-Thrice-And-Get-Banned" rules are getting on my nerves for a while now. Y'all are too lazy (or sadistic even?) to put reminders (mainly because NVSC is apparently the most important life aspect to you) and once a user is unable to do this or that in a certain period (whilst preparing said thing) - BOOM, BYE LOSER!
Sure, some here may not have a functioning real life for reasons I don't care about. But more and more do tend to spend less time here, so have a look at that instead.
And do not come at me like a hypocrite because I spend ~50 hrs currently with school & work and don't have a strike either. I'm pissed at this system, period.

First of all, reminders are no longer posted mainly because we noticed that it worked better without reminders some editions ago. And anyway, when reminders were posted, there were more people who did not vote and still came up with random excuses. I do not understand what triggered you right now. And this is not about having or not a life (which I strongly hate when people say it), it's about learning to be responsible and vote on time. We've said it a hundred times but some people just do not get it no matter how many times it's said. This might be a "game" and "an online contest" but that doesn't mean you have to go around disrespecting the rules. If you can't keep up then just simply withdraw. P.S. Please don't take this post as an "attack" so don't be offended by it.

Thanks for the reply. I still don't understand why things have to happen so radically.
Example A: User10 submits an entry but fails to announce it in time - the council knows of the entry and has planned to include it in advance. Example B: User24 has failed to submit the votes in time but actually wrote them down - it is not deal-breaking to include them afterwards (just like here).
Maybe I'm too foolish to understand, but I don't see why people get strikes over and over and eventually get banned, even after years of playing.

First of all, if I'm unable to vote nothing really happens. It has happened to me twice and I haven't received a "BOOM, BYE LOSER!" answer. I also understand your point but remind that these people are forced to withdraw when the've received three strikes. Also, the main purpose of this contest is to make us enjoy it, and that's impossible when it takes a month to recollect the votes. Second of all, "Prioritise-Real-Life-Thrice-And-Get-Banned". You have no idea of what our lives are about and what happens to us. The fact that we vote in the contest doesn't mean that we priotitise the contest over our real lives, so stfu.

I understand you so much when you say that you can't wait for a month because some people is irresponsible and don't vote (that's so annoying) but imo as a member of the Waiting List (if he doesn't vote this would bennefict me to up there) is to let him vote if he has posted just before this that he was waiting a Reminder. C'mon, give him a second chance, everyone can commit mistakes...

I agree with all your points of view. But I'll add another thought: we all know that the vote of the first semi-final is open for 1 week (voting + announcement results), the same goes for the second semi-final. Immediately after this will start the grand final.
Malta took part in the SF2, so a few hours after the results of it the grand final was open, why wait the reminders? if the process is always the same? If the two semifinals are closed, it is obvious that will start voting for the final... the next day. I understand that the votes were ready but someone forgot to send them.
Why you do not communicate about this? (HoD and Co-HoD) "you sent the votes? you have prepared your vote? all ok with the vote? Deadline is on XXXX"
