SAN MARINO Our country wasn't supposed to take part at the 38th edition but a wild card has been granted to us a few days before the official beginning of the competition. Since we hadn't enough time to organise a national final, we have made a quick internal selection among the artists that were immediately available.
San Marino will be represented by Violetta Zironi (born in 1995 near Modena). Violetta finished at the third place of X Factor Italia #7, a very strong edition where Chiara Grispo (in the same category, girls of 16-24 years) got eliminated at the Bootcamp.
We decided to send her with the song she interpreted in semi-final of X Factor (contestant were allowed to use unreleased songs at this stage of the competition), "Dimmi che non passa". With her eternal ukulele, Violetta made a very fresh country pop song. The melody is very simple but Mika, her coach at X Factor, said it was "sticky as a chewing gum" . We hope you'll enjoy it. We believe that this song is stronger than Prozac with less side effects (the fact that some people are still whistling days after having listened to the song).
Timeslot: 1:38
Bonus: the live performance in X Factor:

Cyprus has chosen to withdraw after deliberation, stating they don't have the financial measures to compete. (Sorry for letting you down, I'm just too taken up by other things at the moment, I'll compete in the near future. )
