Are we still allowed to start NS' before the start of the confirmations? Yes, those changes do not affect the National Selections and of course, if you start one before the official edition thread, your place is reserved as well.

Tbh I don't feel happy about fighting for a place all the time, but there is no fair way I guess.. And the rule can be easily played out with even a 2-song national final. I was thinking of having a rotation system like at ESC in the 90s, but then it would be always the "small" countries that would sit out an edition. With 3 semi finals I think the limit could be raised at least a bit (like in #50). The chance to qualify would be lower, but I would rather stay in a bigger semi final, than completely out of the competition. On the other hand, this many entries would cause extra work for the hosts, so we have to compromise somehow

I wouldn't mind having more countries in the competition but it isn't only up to me. Apart from that, it is indeed extra work which we could possibly take but chasing more than 51 players is not the best thing to do either. Even with 51, some are usually late when it comes to voting anyway. As for that rotation system, indeed, some countries hardly ever get a qualification and some would just be through all the time

Even though I don't mind this system and I kind of agree with balint as well, I think it won't be the best situation, if we have to sit to PC 24/7 from the moment final results of an edition are revealed until the new edition opens. Also this new rule would mean many players opening NS's just to secure their place, without a real need for a NS. Too many countries in this contest also isn't a solution, so I guess this is the best compromise, because I can't think of anything better at the moment...

You will be notified and tagged about the new edition thread and when it will open so you will be able to make sure to be online then and submit an entry. Apart from that, you are actually one of the most active people in here whilst others, least active, are those to fear their spot. Concerning National Finals, it's up to each player to host one and we can't tell them not to do so, nor set a limit of National Selections per edition. Hence, this is the best thing we could think of, instead of extending the countries limit.
