^ I believe that the reason for the "drama" over the NF rejects is not because they are worse than other songs as they weren't chosen to represent their country in ESC. It's because it's unoriginal sending them because they are well known in the forums. not that I don't agree with the fact that it's unoriginal sending them, but if I like a song and want to send it, the fact that it may be counted as "unoriginal" won't stop me. and shouldn't stop anyone else if he really wants to send a certain song.
Edit: I'm not talking about overused songs

^I understand about overused songs. some people might find them annoying, but these are all fresh songs... yes they are played everywhere, but that's what you have to deal with... for example, why no one calls the selected songs overused? They are played even more than other songs, because every youtubu top you hear all the same 43 songs, but I haven't heard anyone calling them overused, before the show is over... I mean, is it just because they were selected to represent the country it takes a lot longer time for them to become overused? hilarious...

I guess we should distinguish between 'overused' and unoriginal' here, that's how I take the words: Overused: A song has taken part in plenty of online contests around here, hence it has been used too often and became overused. Personally I can't really judge that as I don't participate in many. Unoriginal is for me a not really creative choice. That can be an internationally famous singer or international hit, or also an Eurovision-related song/singer, a song from an ESC selection, that is liked by many fans etc. Some might see it as "cheap" attempt to do well, as it's generally known (and perhaps liked) beforehand and thus has an advantage to unknown songs. In both cases some people might complain about it or be bothered by it, while other people might not care at all. In the end I think everyone can decide whether they care about these criteria or not, and all can state their opinion and vote the way they want No need to exaggerate though, in both directions. |
