^ Agreed with Kazakhstan, they've even hit all the stops and it's now entirely Khabar's decision if they want to participate - but I have no idea what Kazakhstan would do given the huge culture shock and the government there

So if Israel is officially dead as a doornail, it might pave the way for the incoming ~ Morocco Tunisia Lebanon~ ownage serving that Arabic realness I dont think this will happen dont forget Lebanon had a 3 years ban after withdrawing in 2005. The second channel of Morocco finds ESC too expensive plus around may we have an international Mawazine festival with singers around the world. ESC wont get attention. The state channel wont participate because of the big fail in 1980 and the king back has said never comeback to ESC its a shame. Also they discuss this in the new era and goverment rejected esc in 2007, 2008, 2012 & 2013. So Morocco is more complicated then other arab countries. Plus next year the Holy Ramadan is around ESC time that will be a def no. Israel withdrew in some years in 80s and 90s and there was no arab country. I doubt to see Tunisia debuting same reason as Morocco. I think there is only a small chance for Lebanon cause they are against the broadcasting of Israel on TV.

If Qatar tries to participate, I hope it's with the one singer I (and some others) know.

Seeing how women are treated in Qatar, that would never happen. I didn't think women were treated badly in Qatar. I believed that they were more open to it the idea of equal rights. Qatar is one of the rare countries I know where a woman may be prosecuted and condemned after being raped. Same if a woman has a child without being married. Until 2015, being pregnant or getting married without asking permission was leading to be fired from Qatar Airways. There are a lot of other examples... Qatar is far from liberal countries like Morocco or Lebanon.

They aren't an EBU member also, and I highly doubt they'd be invited like Australia lol

But if Israel doesn't take part that's an inexistent barrier.
