I really liked it live! Loved to have seen Asanda as well. But SuRie is nice

The song is okay (it was actually my second favourite) but I just don't see how this is going to do well. Her performances left a lot to be desired; she had no stage presence or charisma whatsoever and that is critical in an uptempo song like this. I don't know whether it's because she was behind the mic stand the whole time or because she's a backing singer and so she's not used to that sort of thing (I hope it's the former) but she was a bit of a dud tonight and if she doesn't change this she's doomed to fail.

This sounds like the kind of song that would fit right in as a non-qualifier. But after hearing Asanda's utterly disappointing vocals, the competition was wide open. I think the votes came down to who showed the most talent that night, and SuRie's strong vocals stood out the most among the six acts. SuRie deserved to win. Try me.
Regardless of which act won You Decide, the UK is screwed. I don't even think a revamp would save it despite her amazing vocals. This sounds like an online contest reject. The lyrics and production are safe for competitive standards. Maybe some memorable staging can help them stand out? They were going in a promising direction last year with Lucie. I don't think UK will do as well as last year.

It's an ok song, a bit random and so old-fashioned for me. Maybe in 2002-2004 it would have worked. "Storm" also reminds me of "Perfect Life". There were better options like Asanda, not good vocals but good song, or Raya, maybe she didn't have the best song but her vocals were just great.

"Storm" is an interesting one. It begins pretty calm and calculated, in order to create a solid atmosphere. Gradually, towards the chorus, it starts to get more and more upbeat, and it finally explodes once with the chorus arrival. The staging is simplistic, but weirdly fitting the song. It focuses more on the singer rather than the staging in itself - and the usage of lights quite elevate this song staging-wise, despite the lack of other things to help her. The message she delivers in the song also makes it even more personal to her, therefore the simplistic approach regarding the staging.
My opinion regarding this song? Not going to lie, the United Kingdom has had its moments of striking or failing throughout the years. And to be fair enough, I was pretty surprised to see that the fan-favorite failed all of a sudden after that live performance. I was generally neutral regarding the songs and all, but I really thought Asanda would manage to go for it. Then again, we're talking of United Kingdom in this case, when was the last time a fan favorite won its national selection there?
Not going to lie, I'm being generally honest here, this song is a cliche from the beginning to the end. The structure is generally predictable and yet it doesn't offer anything new to the table. Also the background grey-ish rectangle things were pretty ugly, so yeah. But I do think that a revamp would benefit this song. It has a lot of potential, and yet they're not used properly in SuRie's advantage. I gave a song a close 5.50, because despite its cheesiness, predictability and cliches, SuRie would manage to pull it off. I already adore her personality and attitude and I really want to see her doing great. But y'know, being an awesome person in general doesn't escape you from having a very cliche song.
Conclusion: There's something great there which hasn't been used yet. And I honestly think a revamp would do miracles once again for our good old United Kingdom. Let's hope for the best.
