I felt like giving this a or smth from the beginning, but after knowing what most of the lyrics actually are about, yuk. It's honestly a shame, because since 2016, I wished to see Mikolas Josef at Eurovision, as he is a great singer, but the song is honestly not even on the same level as his musical talent. It's nice to see some more self-composed songs, but this time, it's a no from me. Just waiting for that revamp now, and hopefully the song could potentially sound better

So, basically "Lie to Me" is a pop song with an interesting kind-of turn-up when it comes to the drop. Mikolas right there is generally bring the song to life with the energetic performance in the video. Plus the "drop" apparently are represented by the trumpets - which might be interesting to see in action on the live performance.
My point of view regarding the song? Oh boy... I honestly can't believe that there was something to rival "I've Been Waiting for This Night" from a couple years ago. And apparently Czech Republic manage to equal this, if not making this worse than Donny's song, and that says a whole lot in my book. I'm already waaaay too generous with only this point, because it's the lowest of the bunch. Usually when I hate a song, I can kinda/sorta understand why it is so loved by the others - because it happens not to be my cup of tea at all, and I get it. With this song... Honestly, how can most of you actually stand this is far being my recognition. The lyrics are abysmal, probably the worst lyrics we had to encounter yet on the Eurovision Song Contest stage, the trumpets are annoying, and this whole song is just a mess from the beginning to the end. It's trying waaaay too much to fit into the hip/coolio kind-of type of song but it's basically just a fuckboy anthem and that's pretty much it. The guy doesn't seem bad as a person, but he deserved a better song by a fucking mile.
To top it off, this might probably be my worst song of the entire Eurovision Song Contest. Ever. And I'm surprised to see it comes from a country which actually got my first place just 3 years ago and actually returned in such a classy manner to reach this point. Quite a shame. I'll wait for the revamp, but I doubt it will change much. (also if it's going to be the best entry of theirs, I'll feel seriously bad for them, because this isn't the best they could offer and their 3 previous entries were far better and pretty much underrated)

Also, I will never take people who dislikes "Mercy" over it's "political" meaning, but who likes "Lie to Me" seriously. Not saying this directed to anyone, just mentioning it as people have gone abroad with trying to disqualify "Mercy" for it's non-existing political message, pff.

It sucks that unlike any other song we sent to eurovision this is getting played non-stop at any radio station
